Great deal! I am looking for such an adaptor for a long time. My IBM thinkpad 600x 's battery was totally dead half year ago. Now I can play game in my car. Thanks a million

Wow that's a good deal. Considering all those stupid name brand auto/air adapters cost 100+

If you guys have a fry's around you, you may want to look for this there too if you don't want to bother with shipping. I've seen them for either 29.99 or 39.99 at fry's for the 150W ones.

fry's has a adapter for thinkpad notebook, their price is about 73.99. I almost bought it but gave up in the last minute

Similar to the FAR (or close to it) Fellowes version at CC a few weeks back.

From the looks of it, Dell lappys are NOT included

Radio Shack claims they will start carrying Dell Adaptaplugs after the first of the year - but still no ETA.

make sure it has enough watts, the one for $10 AR from circuit city a few weeks back didn't have enough to power my sony vaio.

My Toughbook uses 15.6 volts. I wonder if I can use this adapter? It only has selections for 15 or 16 volts. Oh well, I just purchased a 300 Watt inverter last week for about the same price.

Definitely won't work with dells. But you can easily pick up a spare power supply for your dell laptop on ebay for under $40 and a power inverter (cig lighter to regular outlet) for around $20 here and there. I got my powerful one from Sams club a year ago for $29 I believe.

I guess this a adecent deal - but the real thing to do here is think a little outside the box...

Why buy a notbook adapter which has limited usabilty if you can pick up a much more universal 12V to 110V converter for just a little more? 300W models are generally available for may be $40 or so (cheaper at costco and/or BJ's) and can be used with any device that requires 110V.

Just my $0.02 that may save you $$$

This may be complete smoke I'm blowing here, but personally, I don't trust aftermarket power supplies, especially universal ones. If it was from like APC, I'd probally buy it, but after spending $1000+ on a notebook, I'd sooner spend a bit more and get the genuine one. Just makes me feel better.

thats why notebook accessories are such a big market. high profit margins.

I might pick one of these up. My thinkpad 765L works fine as a laptop, but the damn power plug is getting worn out I think. I have to hold it to one side to actually be useful. I don't care a lot about using it in the car, but it would be nice to actually be able to use the laptop again. $32 to fix that laptop would be killer, then I could get a 802.11 card for it with my new router

I can't get the page to load at all at the moment, looks like its getting slammed.

I've bought one of the "universal" adapters before (not this particular one, an AC adapter) and the voltage wouldn't change, stuck on one voltage for all the settings, good thing I didn't burn out my LCD.

As others had said, get a power inverter (plenty good deals right now at ebay from $25-50) and universally solve the problem!
