What I want to know is what meds you are on and how's the rehab going?
Thanks for axing. The hydro had been increased to 10mg every 4-6 hours as needed for pain. My leg is healing quickly, thank God. I keep the leg elevated throughout the day and drink lots of milk. I think that combination has helped.
There is no more swelling and I will have the surgical bandages removed on Wednesday. I am currently using a brace that is meant to keep my leg from bending and its cumbersome, making it difficult to sit down (you can imagine how much fun using the toilet has been).
I now have transient pain in my kneecap and some feeling of pressure when I stand up, but Im trying to use as little pain medication as possible. This is my third surgery in six months and Ive used a fair amount of hydro on and off since then. While I take a minimal amount and well under the limit that would be considered unsafe, I fear prolonged use increases the risk of sudden and permanent hearing loss.
Hopefully by the third week of June I will be out and about doing the things I enjoy. This time with a lot more caution. The feeling of invulnerability and being able to handle any terrain at any speed was empowering but inevitably dangerous.
