I was driving on highway. it was local. the road has no sidewalk, but they have traffic light from ever .2-.5 miles. It doesn't matter if I drive on the left or right. I was on the left because I had to turn left the next traffice that was less than half a mile away.

highways don't have stoplights every .2-.5 miles. and nobody is 'teaching you how to teach.'

sorry, please go back to my original unedited post and read it over. I never stated that I was driving on highway. I don't know where you get this idea from. you may call that expressway with traffic light where and there.

Half mile going at 30-40 MPH is still a long way to go. You were an ass not to let him pass. Just because you were not in a hurry does not mean everybody isn't either. Is there a particular reason why he can't pass you, did he hurt your feelings when he honked at you? Let the cops deal with speeders, what you did is foolish. You endangered yourself and the other motorist over a freakin 'honking incident', which was probably because you were ridiculously SLOW.

I was getting there. for this car I drive, I usually drive 40mph. 1.8L is slow.

Way to defend your "manhood." I know, it's a terrible blow to your ego to be honked at when you're doing under the speed limit because the roads are a little wet. God knows how easy it is to completely lose control of your vehicle at 40mph on a gently bending road.

I don't really remember how fast I was going, but I was definitely going around 30-40mph. when he tried to pass me, I sped up to about 50mph.
