a$$hole honked me for going too slow

the posted speed was 40mph on that local road. I was on the left lane and going to take a left turn next stop.
there were two cars coming up to me. suddenly, I heard someone was honking me. I thought about it and took a look at the rear mirror. that must be the a$$hole behind me honked me because I was going around 40mph.

anyways, I gave him a finger and keep on that speed. the car on the right passed me. the a$$hole changed the lane to the right and sped up. I knew he was going to cut back to me, so I step on the gas and not letting him pass me. of course he couldn't pass me.

the upset look on the a$$hole was priceless. :beer:

Local road? In the past I've slowed down even further until I was just creeping along to further piss off the guy who thinks an extra 5 or 10 km/h will really save him any time.

Granted in this age of crazy fscks behind the wheel that was probably not the smartest thing to do, but if you play it safe all the time you're going to look back in your life and wonder at what kind of pu$$y you turned into.

I don't really remember how fast I was going, but I was definitely going around 30-40mph. when he tried to pass me, I sped up to about 50mph.

Actually, I have to say that what you did was just as assholish as what he did. Since what you did caused him to aggressively pass you, you could have caused an accident. Although he was initially wrong to honk at you for going the speed limit, your reaction to the was also wrong. Grow up.

i'd say in an emergency situation the flashers would have been on and multiple honks. But then again - you never know - lol I can just imagine if they guy was in a hurry and you are there speeding up not letting him pass - how embarrassing would that be if you found out that he really was? oh well screw him - you were doing the right thing UP TO THE POINT WHERE YOU STARTED PLAYING BATTLE CARS - errr...battle cars?? haha

Hmm that happened to me a few weeks ago, where this ricer civic kept on trying to pass me on a residential street with speed limit 25. Civic kept on trying to pass me on the left. I heard his exhaust boom, I step on my gas, he falls back into line since he can't pass, and I slow down again. Eventally I let him pass since I felt that someones gonna head on crash this guy.

In the end, the civic beat me to the stoplight by all of 2 seconds. We waited at the stoplight for at least 30 seconds.

This isn't the fvking highway, it's a damn local road with left turns. Is he suppose to stay in the right lane, and then cut someone off when it's time to turn left?

I do that on the highway all the time. If I'm passing on the left and actually passing the person, not going hte same speed and someone starts tailgating me, I change to left lane = right lane speed for atleast 1 mile.

And you should feel lucky that this "racer civic guy" didnt roll down him window and shoot your ass. I've seen a guy beat on the head with a crow bar, and all his windows broken, because he was stopped at a red light surrounded by cars. As you said, "you thought he'd hit some guy head on." Use your noggin before acting like a cop. What you did only increased the chances of him getting into an accident.
