A little warning for the Future.......DSLR has...

gained Bandai's Crunching back!

He has flushed 1485 and 1193 the last two days....that 400k lead will drop quickly if we continue to slide, especially dropping TeAmmates as fast as we get new ones , and we will end up being passed...not the one doing the passing!

I'm not sure what we can do...I don't have the time for a race, although I did have fun during the last one and it helped increase our production and membership to new heights....hmmmm?

The time to stop this is now......

To be honest its down to everyone individually, and we cant really expect to maintain max. performance all the time. We shouldnt beat ourselves up about it (theres no point).

Oh and you can add a Duron 650 once I get a suitable mobo

I've gotta disagree with this thinking. It might be down to everyone individually but we're a team working together and there is something we can do about it. We can recruit more members. It would also help if we had some support from the website. I don't want to "beat a dead horse" but IMO that's the best way to get the word out to new members.

I'm going to petition the mods soon for a new recruiting thread in the other forums. One thread...maybe for two weeks...any time is better than none....and bumped only 4 times max per day...unless bumped by the people of the other forums.

Not sure if they will let it ride or not....we'll see....

TeAm AnandTech SETI really needs something exciting......Example: TeAm AnandTech F@H is growing by leaps and bounds.....they have new excitement in the TeAm.....and it's showing by growing membership. SETI needs the same...again!

I was talking about something specifically - I believe it to be one of the main causes of our SETI teams fall in output - members migrating production to other projects (hence, my saying that its 'down to everyone induvidually').

I dont think we can do anything about what I have just mentioned, it IS personal preference after all. Sure we can recruit more members, but that wasnt what I was referring to in my last post. Sorry I should have made myself more clear in the beginning, but I didnt want to actually point the finger at other projects as one of the causes as I'd hate to cause any bad feeling between members.

Agreed re: support from the website, but we cant count on that to happen. We should look to improve regardless of wether we get support or not, that way we improve, and IF we gain support we get a bonus!

Engineer is right there - its far more appealing to support something that is sucessful, rather than supporting something that may seem like a dead horse!

I guess SETI does need something new and completely different to attract some more members..

ECCp has the idea with the money prize, but I think SETI would attract the most members if someone hit a "dubious" sound packet, and it was someone from TeAm Anandtech

But in reality between now and then we need a much better purpose for newbies to want to join..

FS/T posts will no longer be tolerated in the DC Forum - if found, they will be locked.

This comes about as I asked permission to post such a thread in the DC Forum since I'm a hard-core DC member and wanted to let you all have first dibs on the stuff I'm selling. I know people have done this before without asking permission but I've been communicating with the Mods already due to the large volume of stuff I'm selling from my basement. :Q

Sorry, you'll just have to keep an eye open for my post in the FS/T forum in the next couple days.

Now why in the "heck" would they care about a FS/FT thread here? The so few we have had in the past didn't cause any issues. And especially from such an established trusted trader as yourself.

Now, instead of adding Anandtech support for DC, they are taking things away from us.

Perhaps if SETI users supported another DC project, for a short period of time, the users of that DC project could reciprocate.....
Of course, I run ECCP now so I am biased.... but if some SETI members helped our ECCp team regain our previous lofty position in the ECCp, project, when the ECCp project finishes (projected to be sometime soon) then the ECCp users could repay the debt for a while

Bandai's coming back is actually good for the project so I am happy to see it. Plus I hate it whenever someone has their fleet taken because someone has stupid fears that Seti is causing problems with their system.

Also, let's take a look at the numbers from Setiatwork (it doesn't not taken into account WUs for departing and new members):

Note the Setiatwork site runs daily stats from 7pm CST to 7pm CST. The stats for 6/12 are up to 5:00pm CST so they will change before the day is over.

Now these numbers point out that we need not go into a panic as we are still outproducing them. A few departures have clouded us into thinking that we are running even with them and we are not.

Now where we should be looking is at HWF.

In the last 7 days of production they are much closer to us than DSLR is to us.

So lets get back to what we need to focus on and that is getting better support for the TeAm and recruiting new members. Every team needs new blood constantly to keep it vibrant and to get new ideas. Lets go get some!

No FS/T thread, is total bull. This is our forum to help our DC projects. Selling items to each other only helps the projects. Let's just hope it was a Mod having a bad day. I have some old systems (Celeron 333's) I am going to put up here soon, and basically I just want a few bucks and shipping. It will help someones stats and the overall project. So let's see if it gets locked...

If this is the case, perhaps the moderators would allow a "sticky" thread at the top where announcements ONLY for FS/FT stuff could be posted. Here's an example:

Need RAM for your crackrack/nodes? Take a look: Subscriber or Non-Subscriber

As long as they were FYI's in the form of simple links to the FS/FT Forum without any questions/deals/etc being posted, it should keep everything neat and clean. It doesn't resolve the issue of giving your teammates/friends "first dibs" but at least it lets folks know there might be something interesting outside of the DC Forum. :Q
