A major slowdown with fast legs

While ago, I had no problems with my computer. It was running at full speed, I had no problems starting the computer, no stalls, etc.. Now after I installed EVE online, and playing for about 14 days, the computer is locking up; computer startup takes a very very long time to do (about approximately 8-12 minutes); and whenever I play games when the computer doesn't seem to be having these problems, the game also locks up as well. I only have a few ideas off of experience.

When I start the computer when I wake up, the computer runs fine most of the time. (sometimes it'll be fine for hours before this happens).

Whenever I tuck in the side of my bed cover, it hits the window of the tower (which doesn't have any vents in it, only plastic windowing and some metal), and the computer starts to act up like I have described.

Specs:
Windows Vista Basic Pack 1
8800 gts Geforce videocard
4 gbs of ram
Gigabyte tech mobo

Thanks.

Update:
I know what I'm saying is pretty general, but if this makes anything different, the computer can not log onto my account and instead loads a 'temporary account'. The loading time that it takes to get to the desktop is ridiculously long. Most of the time, the computer doesn't even load the desktop and instead keeps restarting itself.

Update:
I narrowed it down a bit I believe. I am trying to see if I can look at the whats wrong by looking at the administrative tools in safe mode. Even in safe mode, I am locking up; would this be because of a virus at all? Or hardware related if at all possible?

Event Viewer's error report:
Unloading the performance counter strings for service WmiApRpl (WmiApRpl) failed/ The first DWORD in the Data section contains the error code.

I found the problem with the speed issue, but the computer keeps showing the temporary User account (that gets destroyed when you turn off, log off, or restart the computer). But I have new information that may be important; this is event viewer:
There are view errors here:

(1) The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> was unavailable to handle a notification event

(There are two of the same problems, it just repeated itself within the event viewer. Perhaps it showing two of the same error means it's significant?)

(2) The Event logging service encountered an error while processing an incoming event published from Microsoft-Windows-Security-Auditing
