Yeah, um... not really. There are far better tasting burgers out there, with some semblance of nutritional value.

List, please?

1/3 pound peppercorn crusted burger with thick sliced applewood bacon and a very mature red leicester on a homemade poppy seed bun with lettuce and homegrown tomato and homemade mayo.

im willing to bet that costs more then 1$ and takes longer then 30 seconds to get

speed and cost are why people eat fast food

also peppercorn crusted burger DO NOT WANT

Really? Peppercorn crusting is the best.

no crusting makes a burger better

in before edit.

OMG a typo.

That wasn't a typo. It was a not-using-your-brain moment just before calling someone else an idiot. A typo is something like thsi. Carry on.

Yeah, I guess your right.

Why should they? It should be each person's responsibility to manage what he or she eats -- a corporation shouldn't prescribe what someone should eat. How could they possibly do so, effectively? Their burgers are less "bad for you" than most other burgers that I've found. Look at the nutrition information tables.

No. It is called two questions one being more important. I have no idea what type of preservative could possibly hold off bread mold for 12 years. I also have no idea why McD's would add this and other preservatives in such high levels that it can keep it around for 12 years.

Two Questions. Both don't make sense.

Indeed, presuming that it would increase costs to add preservatives, it wouldn't make financial sense for them to be added to a product that's not intended to be around very long.

It is also impressive that they can find preservatives that are so long acting. Many store bought foods, including breads, use preservatives and they mold. It just seems unbelievable.

I am all for ... if you wanna eat it and it tastes good go for it. But I am also for Consumers being knowledgeable about the thing they are buying and holding the producer accountable for quality.

It is important to maintaining a free market. You may of heard of it. It is what republicans use to get out of taxes.

That probably tastes better, but the nutritional value is almost definitely equivalent.

This would have a significantly different combination of vitamins and minerals. Hence different nutritional value.

Um, do you have a chart of the vitamin and mineral composition of these two burgers? For my part I'm looking at the nutritional profile for beef, white bread, lettuce, and tomato. As opposed to the McDonald's burger this burger has bacon and mayonaisse, neither of which host a particularly strong vitamin and mineral profile. They're just fat and flavor filler. Put your money where your mouth is.

The hyperosmolatity of honey (due to the fact that it is almost completely concentrated sugar) makes it impossible for any living microorganism to live in it. If they try water is immediately leached from their cell body and they shrivel and die.

There are bacteria that have developed ways of living in other hyperosmotic environments; however, there has yet to be one that can in honey. Maybe one day there will and than honey won't be permanently sterile.

A burger should have no property that should make it impervious to decay. It defies biology.

No, I'm really not. My comment was about as relevant as showing someone a 12 year old hamburger and telling them they shouldn't eat it because it was well-preserved. And they used that scary word, chemical too. :Q If you want to say something is harmful, tell me what is in it and what harm it does. A picture of an old hamburger is just a scare tactic.

I think this is a hoax. I don't believe that there is any preservative that could keep bread from molding for that long. It is possible that she kept this burger in a freezer and is conveniently omitting that part.

She just claims the burger is 12 years old, we have no idea that statement is (1) true or if it is (2) how she stored the burger.

A cheeseburger would probably look different and not prove her point of view that all fast food is the devil.

I'm just saying fuck hamburgers. They shouldn't even sell hamburgers. Don't like cheese, or allergic to it or someshit? Scrape it off, wuss! That's how it should be.

Agreed, didn't Spurlock do this and the bread went moldy after not very long?

I'd just like to point out that just because it ages well doesn't mean it's bad for you...

It's definitely bad for you, but the original point of the post is stupid.

Those McDonald's burgers are so good. I don't know about in the US, but here in Canada those burgers are delicious. I'll eat 9 or 10 of them at a time.

In the battle of $.99/1.00 burgers from fast food joints, McD's double cheeseburger is by far the best value. It's clearly bigger and more tastier than the others.
