Their liquidation sale ("end of year&quot was nice and liquid before, now it's not that hot - I hope they drop the prices again before they call it quits.

Was a good site for DINK's like me. Hate going to toy store to buy for the cousins. Etoys lets you seperate out into age group & $$$ spent.... so I could look for toys for the nieces, nephews, cousins without having to hear children throwing a tantrum @ toys r us.

Damn! I bought the stock when it went down to $0.25/share. I knew this scenario could happen, but I decided to roll the dice.

Maybe I can make back some of the losses with a few good bargains from the clearance sale.

Too bad -- that was a great site to use. We found great toys for my niece and nephew for the past two Christmas seasons by using their search engine. If my choice is now Toys 'R Us, I think they'll be getting gift certificates from now on.

screw em.. if they hadn't wasted so much time and money on their pursuit of etoy.com, thinking they were an untouchable corporate firm, those employees might still have jobs. we burn our own bridges.

and if you look at the bright side, all of those employees will be eligable for unemployment, and will find some other job--hopefully at some place which makes profit and isn't so full of themselves.

I didn't know that all of this was going on. Last night I surfed all over looking for bath paints for my son. I was so happy to find them at etoys for $2.99 on sale. Normal price is about $12. So I went to checkout and discovered that shipping for one of these is $8.50! They consider it a medium sized item. Yeah right!
I actually emailed them bitching about the shipping price. They returned my email saying it was competitive pricing.
So I guess I'm just venting. It doesn't matter when they're going out of business. I hate seeing people loosing jobs though.

etoys.com used to be a great site though their shipping is really
damn slow. It took 2+ weeks for them to ship the stuff I ordered.

Still sad that they went down.

Maybe they went down because of the bad karma they generated by trying to steal a URL from someone else that had been using it for years? I know I didn't buy anything from them until it was obvious they were going down the tubes(and the deals were just too juicy to pass up).

PS the job market may not be looking so good with Chrysler laying off 26,000. I also heard that a planned GE and Honeywell merger could be dumping some ungodly high number of people, but I haven't been able to confirm that rumor.

Just got my order today. It also took them about two weeks, but I saved a bundle, so I don't mind

Yeah right, a moment of silence, while I take a big deep
breath and then laugh my ass off.

Etoys can rot in hell.

I just wish my broker had shares to short at $40 over a year
ago when I realized the SCAM EToys was running.

We placed 4 orders for the Christmas of 1999 5 weeks before
Christmas. None of the orders made it in time even though
all items were shown as "IN STOCK".

I sent a letter to the president of EToys and their reply came
from Customer Service, not the president telling me they were
behaving like all other online stores.

Great, so now EToys IS like other dot coms. They are going
out of business.

In fact, the best response I've seen was:
ETOYS finds a buyer. Micheal Jackson!
He wants the EToys.com web site because it will
attract a ton of kids.

I'd have to agree, in part, with Scrounger.

EToys was a crappy company that tried to fight it's way into the black with lawyers and nothing else. Their attack on Etoy.com was pathetic and was the only reason I never shopped there.

Just my Tuesday 2 cents.
