So, I started playing this game and Ikariam at the same time, and this game just rocks. At first, I was put off by the dated graphics, and thought I would like Ikariam more. I definitely prefer the art style and graphics of Ikariam. But, after playing both for about a week, I'd say that Tribal Wars is MUCH better. I love how detailed the reports are, and how easy it is to track EVERYTHING that you've done. So for those of you that are still on the fence about this game, I strongly encourage you to give it a shot.

If they would just update the graphics, it would make a huge difference, IMO. The game looks at least 10 years old.

There are in game forums, look on your upper right corner. Basically in the beginning concentrate on resource buildings, you can get resources from upgrading mines, and pillaging (pillaging is actually a very quick way to get resources). Spear men are best for gathering resources with early units until you get light calvary, build a paladin too. Buildings availability are dependent on your town hall level.

Far from it, if anything people just got bored and things died in a bit of a whimper. A lot of people either quit or left for TW, at least partially due to a new round of bugs along with corruption being bumped up even higher.

The alliances were basically dominating anywhere there was any sort of action but the wars didn't really get any sort of resolution, they basically expired due to lack of interest.

I suggested that we kind of seek some sort of close to the wars, at least a formal surrender from the alliances we were warring (no terms just a declaration) to leave no doubt as to what happened, but nothing came out of it.

Anyways, "spectacular fashion" is a bit of hyperbole, but whatever

It's a shame tribes are limited to 100 though. I guess we could start offshoot tribes like we did in Ikariam though.
