Hello everyone. I ended up buying an awesome SFF Shuttle PC for my little brother for a good deal, but I ended up keeping it and giving him my old rig because I liked it so much. (Quieter, Faster in SC2, and smaller so it fits in my cluttered room better). Unfortunately, I'm not too familar with overclocking an Intel processor. This is the hardware that matters so far:
Intel E8600 3.33 GHZ
Shuttle X48 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600
Currently at the following:
CPU VCore: 1.25V
CPU Speed: 400 FSB x 10 (4.0 GHz)
Memory Speed: 800 MHz x 2 (Assuming that DDR3 is still double pumped, and is no different from DDR2, then I'm running below the RAM Speed of 1600 MHz still)
Auto for all of the other settings.
Am I correct to assume that DDR3 is double pumped and that I'm not going over the RAM rating of 1600 MHz? The C2D OCing guide here says that you're supposed to multiply DDR3 by 4, and not 2.....but it makes no sense to me since DDR3 still stands for "double data rate".
