Ah good! Hard to believe the Boinc website is outdated.

And tomorrow? Parhaps two more points to #19?

Perhaps 3 more points, NFS is a close race right now too. And once again, it'll be Overclock net we overtake.

Plus another 2 points in Milkyway, lol. Gonna be a good day or two for the TeAm, one way or the other.

I hate to bring politics and distrust into these forums, but I personally will pass on CAS. :\

Sweet, one Tony won't win!

/me looks at project.

Oh, wait, I agree with him.

For the next project, Milkyway@home, Numberfields@home, or Leiden Classical all sound good to me. I have a small problem with NFS@Home in that it takes too much RAM. But at least one machine could do it. One of these weekends I need to drive to Denver and get to work building another machine.

Ah, you sure know how to make a fella blush. ()

All your stats, are belong to ME. Muwahahaha!!!

Ah...1991 graphics. Rocking that software rendered image on a 486DX-33MHz! Woot! Two years before the almighty Pentium-90MHz was introduced, lol. We've come a long ways fellas.

I ran the original Seti project on a room full of 486 and Pentium 90/120 machines during off hours when they weren't needed for "heavy duty business computing"...

We are literally only one update (51,000 pts) away from gaining 2 points in MW, passing XtremeSystems in MW, which raises our overall standing to 19, just UNDER XtremeSystems.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

EDIT: Ah, they gained on us overnight...

I spun up my second G3258 / 7950 rig the other night. Both rigs are running a variety of projects, but the 7950 cards are doing both MW@H and Einstein@home (though not at the same instant).

Here are the individual stats:

Very nice production, TeAm-mates! Will we get 400K more?

The Formula-BOINC- EDGeS@Home standing:

And now we are #4 with 12 points. We may pass [H]ard|OPC by late tomorrow for 3 more points.

Here are is the TeAm's production stats:

More tha three times the production of our closest competitors!

Here is the development during the past 10 days. Please remember, we started the race March 16, 2015, 18:00 UTC, i.e. after the stats below were updated.

And the Formula-BOINC-ranking:

Up from #25 to #19 in eight days. That is nice.
For the next step we need 27 more points. That may take some time - but we will reach that - if we crunch several projects nice and steady.

Well done, TeAm!

I propose that the next project would be MilkyWay@Home. This project can use AMD- as well as NVIDIA-GPUs, although AMD-GPUs are more efficient. The project has sufficient WUs which take different times to complete, is quite reliable (very few unplanned outages) and gives the results very fast. It is also adaptable (i.e. you can choose among several applications of different time frames) so it can fit your GPU. Here is more info about the apps!

If we increase our production significantly (I know i can add some 400K - 450K/day to the TeAm's RAC) we may rise to #4 since the teams at #1, #2, #3 produce quite a lot more than we do now. OTOH: if all of the racers add all their GPUs to the fray, who knows ...

Due to the wide variation of points between projects, are we being scored on a scale similar to the Formula Boinc system, or perhaps something more linear (1st place gets 10pts, 2nd gets 9pts, 3rd get 8pts etc)?

And FRED, hurry up and get that RMA'd PSU already! We're dying to know what that processor can do!

I was thinking the more linear way ... have not decided 100% yest.
BTW: The forum will be down (see announcement at top of our forum) and thus the stats will be late ...

So am I! The tracking info indicates it should be delivered to Cooler Master RMA sometime today. They've got it.

I've been having more trouble getting work lately. This time it looks like it's not just the odd way EdGES doles out WUs:

We picked up a point in NFS yesterday.

5 of my 7 rigs were running Windows 10 tech preview yesterday. A forced update has unstabilized them all. I was only able to patch up and get 3 of them running right now. Yeah Microsoft!

FYI, linux is 2x faster on Edges vs windows 8.1. I've got dual boot on my 3930K so I've been running linux. :whiste:

I get it I get it! Give me some time to play with Linux some more, I can't for the next several days due to daily overtime (plus Saturday and Sunday) at work plus after hours I'm clearing out my junk from a house I have sold because we close on Tuesday. (which is why I've recently been confident enough to spring the $$$ for a new primary rig, and for a few of these ancient beauties. Unholy crap Batman! He raised the price by $136. )

Yeah, linux is a big learning curve if you drop in a GPU that's useful for crunching.

My apologies for being a pest.

Those Dell workstations are nice.

My apologies for being a pest.

Please do keep me on my toes.

So Milkyway is coming up soon, and it is primarily a (AMD) GPU project, AMD users (relatively speaking) won't get many points using their CPU for MW, not sure how crippled the Double Precision is on the Nvidia cards, so CPU may boost the points for Nvidia users.

My point is that I'll be using my CPU's for other projects, and if you're an AMD GPU user, you may wish to do the same, so why not coordinate? We're going to be close to taking the top spot in Edges, so I'll certainly keep pumping points into that project.

I was thinking also of helping out NFS, but I'd like other opinions. We just took #9 on NFS, but it's extremely uphill from there, and the best we could hope for after a few MONTHS is probably 3rd (gain of 13 points). But, they do seem to pay a bit better than EDGES, and we've made some VERY impressive progress/points there, so maybe it wouldn't take as long as I think to take the #3 spot.

Lastly, in my experience, regarding MW, you get the most points out of "MilkyWay 1.02" projects (whether GPU or CPU). AVOID the (mt) multi-threaded projects if you can, on my machines they often go into endless loops, never finishing. Set your preferences accordingly.

I think it would do us well to stay on the EDGeS-project to increase our lead. When we leave the project for an other CPU-project we will drop a bit and therefore staying around makes sense.
We could, however also start on something else ... Numberfields@Home, NFS@Home or - if there are enough WUs - universe@home test project ...
Inpu please ...
