A Newbie ? about overclocking

hi i am quite new to overclockin, but had a fgew ??'s specially on volatages. One what are the consequences of increasing vcore volatges? and what about the same for ddr and agp? i am currently runnin my locked 1800+ @ 1696(11.5*147, @1.8V) will pushing the ddr voltages higher give me better stability? any response will be greatly appreciated,

Your fsb is about maxed out at 147. I would try unlocking your xp if you are so inclined with a rear window defogger kit. I was unable to get mine unlocked, but you may have more patience and skill working with the tiny L1 bridges. If you raise your cpu vcore, your temps will rise, and you will need a good copper heatsink, such as vantek, thermalright, alpha, or swiftech. You can try raising your memory voltage by .1-.2 volts, and see how stable your system is. Be sure you have at least one case fan in front, and one in back for good airflow. When you get a premium heatsink, it often comes with a noisy fan. I ordered my heatsink and fan separately from a company called coolerexpress, but there are many other good ones that specialize in cooling. Check pricewatch under the cpu column and fan category. thanx for ur help, and yes i am runnin an alpha pal 8045 w. a very loud delta fan, i got a enermax 120mm intake fan and a sunon exhaust, i wll unlock soon jus gotta get the supplies

This is one of the simpler guides to unlocking the multiplier, but be careful to keep the lines separate so you don't short out your chip. You might try using tape to keep the lines separate as here. The rear window defogger kit (for the conductive ink) was only $8 at my nearby auto store.
