A question about losing RC5 blocks

As a member of a team in the DPC I ofthen check the daylie preformance of my team and we found out that we are losing workunits. :|
On average it is about 9% and that is muche, way to muche when you think that we doe about 30k+ a day.

Now don't start talking about random blocks becourse we checked it out ourselfs, we don't do them nor do we doe dubble.

With the perproxy from d.net and ppstats we checked every thing and found out the folowing.

If we collect all the blocks we do for a day and make a copy of that file and dump it we lose a lot compared with our own files.
If we dump the same blocks again the next day or the day afther we get some of our lost blocks back but not all of them. :frown:

At this moment we should have 3M+ blocks done but by d.net we are still +/- 200k short. :| :| :|

Do you people have the same problems and what can we do about it?

Random blocks could be part of the issue. You may not be doing randoms, but others are. Some could be the units that you send in. Also, Dnet will send out the same keys again after a certain time has passed. If you get those keys and then the original person sends them in before you do, you will not get credit.

Otherwise, it sounds more like a dnet issue and I would email them directly if I were you.

ps - I'm going to add that DPC's can post this type of question anytime and should feel free to answer questions like this asked in the forum as well.

Imposible with a setting for max 3k keys in the pproxy and doing 30k+ a day.
Random block don should not been send again and doesn't explain why we get some blocks back afther a second dump of the same workload.

Not impossible, but I agree that it is unlikely that you would lose such as high % every time.

If there was some sort of error in the database code, only dnet could help you. If an email address was messed up, I could see you never getting credit for blocks but not getting credit the second time they're sent in.

Have you tried emailing dnet and providing sample files?

yep but some stupid fool told me that we got to much credit for our work, we did collect only during the DPC MF6 and had 2 dumps of 100K+ but non for 8 days before.

It doesn't mather to them what we do or not.
I thing they can't handle the workload anymore whitch is dumped on them every day, 39M+ by all RC5-64 crackers a day if I'm not mistaken.

There is a possibility that DNet resends some blocks to check if some clients are hacked (it has happened before). In this case you may be checking a block that has allready been checked by somebody else. But still 9% is too much.

the real problem is that it isn't team killemall allone chakoty and some other DPC members have the same problem and I would like to know if your members have the same problem.
If so I start writing a very angry e-mail to them also becourse of the first responce of them.

I bet that an angry email to them calling them "stupid fools" will get you a great response and make them very, very happy to help you. Make sure that you are clear that you are a member of the DPC in the email. I suggest that "rat bastards" and "bloody idiots" be used as well to describe the Dnet staff. Hell, they're paid tons of money to work on this project and they have state of the art equipment. How dare they rip you off of some work units!

ps - I hope you get the point I'm really trying to make ...
