A Question About Upgrading :D

I have a Ati X1800XT for about two years so far, but i believe i will need to upgrade soon since i play BF2, COD4, and maybe Hellgate London. I am not sure if i want to upgrade to this or just wait around for the next generation nvidia cards. I am not too much of an Ati fan anymore, and i will want an nvidia video card for my next card. I would like to upgrade as soon as possible because i want to have fps lag-free games with the settings i run at. My price range is around $300-$350 dollars. Any help on whether to wait for the next generation or just upgrade now will be appreciated, thank you.

Same card I have and I get high 70s FPS in Crysis with everything set to high @ 1280 X 1024. AA off though.

I play my games on 1680X1050 on my Samsung 226BW on mostly high settings, with AA usually off. The GT that you linked me looks pretty good, but i was thinking of getting the GTS i linked because people are saying when overclocked it beats the GTX in most cases. I am not too much of a crysis fan, even though i do like the graphics, but i wont be playing that game. Anymore suggestions would be great, thanks for all the responses too.

Well if you want to plop down the cash you posted first, get the GTS, but the difference isn't that noticeable unless you're going to run AA or whatever. I have the same monitor you do, run everything at 1680x1050 and it's perfectly smooth on my HD3850 that cost me 105 bucks. So it just depends on your desires. Honestly if I were you I would wait to see what happens with the 9000 series launch and how that affects the 8800 stuff. That's just me .02!

I appreciate your feedback ZoNtO, I was thinking since the 9 series would be coming out soon that the rest of nvidia's 9 series will start going down in price little by little within the month. The reason i am not really into Ati is basically just because of the Drivers, i really enjoy the look of nvidias drivers and the really easy use of it. I am really tempted to get this since people are overclocking it pretty nicely and because BFG has always been good support (says my friend).
