A Question For Guys

Not that it matters, but there has been something that has bothered me for a long, long time.

What does a guy mean when he says he has 'feelings' for you? Is that the same as 'love'? Or does it just mean, 'When I see you I get a stiffy'?

I'm really curious to hear your responses. Thank you in advance.

All the times I've said it, it meant "I really enjoy your company and I think we could be more than friends." That's just me, though.

I can say "I have feelings for you" and that won't be the same as "I enjoy being with you" or the often overused "I love you" IMHO.

Depending on how well I knew the person it could mean love, or it could mean something similar that could develop into love...

But not just sexual attraction, for sure.

I really have no clue (and yeah, I am a guy)

I guess I wouldn't use that kind of wording. I'd either say "I love you" or "I really like you" or "I wanna fvck you" or something to that extent.

It means he has feelings, definitely fond, but he is not sure if he feels more yet.

OR

He feels like he has to say something, and that is the best he can come up with on short notice

You have to decide what's what.

Thanks guys... keep it comin'.... I'd really like to be able to put this in perspective at last.

The person who told me he had 'feelings' for me also told me he doesn't think he has ever loved anyone. Except his mother, lol...

I know guys can have a hard time saying "I Love You"... in fact, I was the first and only girl the Mister ever said it to. It was a really big deal to him.

Before him, I had a serious boyfriend who couldn't say it, couldn't even express affection really... but once at 3AM he called and said "I LOVE YOU, DAMNIT" and hung up on me. He was interesting.

The thing is, I have never asked anyone to say it to me. If I love someone, I show them and tell them... and I don't worry too much about making them do the same.

It's a curious thing to me.

<< It could mean either. It depends on the individual. As they say, actions speak louder than words. >>

Right. If he starts humping your leg, you can assume that he means "you give me a stiffy".
If he's generally nice and doesn't make any sexual moves towards you then he probably means what he said, that he has romantic feelings for you. Maybe a crush, maybe love, most likely something more than friendship.

edit: p.s. it's spelled "dammit" not "damnit"

Its a code phrase for "Your place, or mine". Jk, I think it means that the person cares about you, and think about you. Not really in love, but just cares for you.

What does a guy mean when he says he has 'feelings' for you?

A good question. I really haven't a good grasp on what that means either. This considering I do have the anatomical properties sufficient (and I daresay necessary) for classifying me as a "guy". Thus far, I think Russ has a clever way of stating it but I suppose that then I question what hunger is.

anyone care to explain?

Cheers !

Love is such a powerful word that is used way too often. I think I use it only with about a dozen people max. For instance, I may like a girl romantically a lot, but when I start talking love, we'll start discussing marriage not too long after.

"I have feelings for you" is a decent phrase to bridge the HUGE gap between "like" and "love."

Hunger is a need for sustenance.

Ditto.

I've NEVER said "I Love You" to any girl.......

I think when a guy says it he sometimes wants to say *I love you* but can't or doesn't want to say it to scare her off. But either way if hes for real he really likes you and wants to be more then friends.......

If a guy says that to you then he likes you and he is yours for molding in to!!! :Q

I have feelings for you Isla. Now since I wouldn't say I have thoughts for you, I can say only that I have no idea what having feelings for you really means. If I had to, though, I suppose I could put some words to my feelings but they would, I'm pretty sure, just make me blush and sound really silly. Heck, I'm missing my show. Gotta run.

it means a little of both. but some guys don't use the word 'love' so they say this. however, if the guy is a slut then it probably means you give him a stiffy and he wants you take care of his stiffy.

Personally, I put a lot of thought into my emotions, so if I were to say "I have feelings for you", I would only be saying that I want to get to know you better than I do now, and in a manner different than "just friends", but in no way would I have any extensive emotions for you, since that generally comes after time. If the woman was amazing to me, I'd just say that, quite simply.

That probably was of no assistance whatsoever. My apologies.
