I have had a muslim flatmate for the last 4 months and he keeps leaving a great amount of water on the counter and floor of our shared bathroom. He has to clean himself in a certain way before his prayer, but...

It's getting out of hand... As in a gallon of water on a 5'x3' counter with my stuff on it... Total lack of respect. So i need a polite reminder, something that would probably make him think twice before leaving a mess.

Is there something in the rules of wudu (ritual cleaning before prayer) that says they have to leave the area clean after?

for a culture native to a region that is extremely arid, i highly doubt he's following the correct guidelines for ritual bathing.
