I shut down my SetiQ at work yesterday so I'll have only a few systems from home producing for me now. Production will go from about 160 per day to maybe 15 or so. I'm also going to have to track down my DF clients and stop the service on them. My DF production will flatline soon.
Why? All because the "tech" who filled in for me on vacation saw the CPU at 99% when there was a problem with a system. Not that stopping the SETI service fixed the problem or anything. Just something the "tech" didn't understand so it was reported to the director. He knew about it but didn't care because there's never been a problem. Now he thinks it's a bad idea and wants the SETI clients stopped. Odd that it's been okay for nearly 4 years but now is a problem.
Same old story - we've all heard it before. I guess I'll follow the path of so many who've had powerful work fleets grounded. Oh well, life goes on...

EDIT: Well I gave in and fired up the SetiQ box. I mean, um, a freak power surge must've turned the SetiQ box back on. Yeah, that's it... (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)
