Well hell, what else do you expect? Do you really think people haven't tried scamming others before? If you're so trusting yourself, give me your contact information and i'll hook you up with a Nigerian prince who can help you.

I'm not saying you're lying (and going by your heatware feedback, i believe you), but you really can't expect people not to be skeptical.

Ok, for those that are skeptical and we have established that you have every right to be, either PM me if you want to get involved or save your post. This isn't about scams.

This is a public forum... if you bring this out to the public, the public has the right to respond and post what they think. If you wanted this to be a private matter, and didn't want people involved, then maybe you should take it elsewhere.

Point taken, and you may be right about going somewhere else for help. I have, however, seen a strong reponse to tragedy within the computing community in the past and am hoping to see something similar here. Might be wishful thinking...

Im not saying your story is made up or anything, but someone did something similar to this on hardforum about 4 weeks ago.

Claimed he got into a serious car accident (turns out it was pretty bad, but not as bad as he said) and skimped out on ALOT of deals.

I sympathize greatly with your plight but I have seen people asking for money just to keep their house because of medical bills. I just cant justify donating to this, sorry

Why has the name of the author not been posted yet? I know you want to maintain her privacy, but it is unreasonable for you to ask this forum's trust without providing that basic information. There are other ways we can help her.

fair enough. my kid sister might like those (she seems to be involved in a book serioes about "complex father-daughter relationship pays tribute to the ability of love to transcend boundaries of life and death" among other things.) I'll buy a stack for her birthday. Fair enough... I would have just bought her some useless crap anyway.

Best wishes to the mother

Wow-you're asking for a lot. The examples of desired hardware is equal or better than my 'performance' machine.

Why don't you list what items and how much money you have already received? That way, we can see what items are still needed.

Will do, grooveman just donated the first thing - a XP2500+ so it looks like it's AMD.

There are lots of people dying in this world. I fail to understand why this womans illness should warrant her son to receive a glamarous toy. The $500 spent on this rig could probably feed a family for 3 months in a third-world country.
