Actually getting two cats is better since a single cat often can get bored and lonely. Sometimes this can make them get destructive.

I'm considering getting a Bengal and would definately get it a friend to play with while I'm gone.

why is it weird? a cat is a pet just like any other animal.
so if he had 2 miniature poodles instead it would be ok?

i swear, people are fvcking retarded.

No, that would be weird too. I think it's weird that a single man would have two of anything like that. Two cats, two 42" TVs, two espresso makers, two king sized beds, two lava lamps. It makes it seem like the guy is unfulfilled in life and is trying to compensate by buying more than he needs or really wants.

What? Whatever. I just believe in having two so that they can entertain each other. I used to have three but one got runover.

<----- Single guy with two cats.

it's relatively easy to have two cats once you already have one. I had two cats at one point because I had adopted the first one after my friend's cat had kittens. then the other one I found some months later stuck inside someone's engine compartment. I just couldn't leave him there like that, and it's kind of difficult to find homes for cats. he turned out to be a really cool cat, but he died some years later.

I have two cats. I got the second because the first one seemed so bored an lonely all the time. Now he attacks the second cat who wants nothing to do with him and otherwise behaves exactly the same way.

I wish that my landlord would let me get a second cat. My cat gets lonely when I'm not at home, and then annoys the hell out of me when I get home and eat dinner.

Damn, guess I'll be a weirdo if I buy that TV for the bedroom. Or the expresso maker for the beach house. Oh sh!t having a second house would make me weirdo anyway.

(only have one house just speaking hypothetically here)

Trust me when I say that getting a second cat won't change that behavior.

It means he's a smart cat owner.

a single cat by itself is a terror and tends to wreck/destroy stuff.

two offer the companionship and play that the need.
