I go back into the restroom and I find the defector standing at the restrooms back door so I am thinking that that must be the door to get to the train but when I try to open it nothing hppens?

In fact I have tried every door but nothing happens, any clue with

you give the conductor guy your pass, hes outside the bathroom and in a gated window, and go through that door next to him. Then you see a guard but dont shoot him or game over, there should be a door that leads to the backdoor of the bathroom, open it and the doctor will follow u into the train. After that, then comes the tricky part

After that, then comes the tricky part

after that you goto the Jungle, pure eye candy heaven. Awsome job at creating the environments.

Also I am really liking the AI, hard doesnt have to mean (yet) an impossible magic bullet like in others like MOH or Wolf, the bad guys in some cases actually put up a decent fight.

It plays alot like MOH but with better AI and very nice levels and lots of eye candy.

I think I'm in for a treat

Hi Nick, yup, I totally agree with you. The jungle level is really great

Now I can say (IMHO) that this game and Ghost Recon/Desert Seige has the best outdoor graphics that I have seen. Combined with real good gameplay to boot

So.....

Would you guys say that I would like SOF2, considering:

The only FPS I've played are Doom, SSSE, and MOHAA. Loved Doom when it came out. Like SSSE cause I can play over my LAN with my gf and she can have fun. Absolutely loved MOHAA.....but, won't go back and replay it at the hardest level.

Is SOF2 new? Can I find it at a decent price anywhere?

Without a doubt. Go out and get it and you will love it !! btw, my first fps was DOOM. That game introduced me to why I need a computer
the original DOOM was superb, nothing will ever be like that to me except DOOM-3. Great erie music. Made the hairs on the back of my head stand up everytime I got spooked by a imp...hehe, good stuff.

Hmmmmm, come to think of it I got that way back when I got my first computer which was a 486DX2 50Mhz with a whopping 4 megs of ram...

Yup, it came out this last week, and I think you can get it at CompUSA for $35.00 , enjoy !!

Just beat the game after picking it up at $35 and not sleeping the entire night. Not a bad game, but a little short. There are some "magic bullet" moments in Kamchatka where you can't see the enemy even with a 20x scope because they're still in the fog, but they have no problem picking you off. It was probably my problem because I didn't use the thermal sensor. However, it's definitely not as bad as the sniper level in MOH:AA. The Columbia jungle was a tough level because you couldn't see anything past the brushes. The last level is a little frustrating but fun at the same time. Raven redeemed themselves after the horrible debacle that was the single player of JK2, IMO.

Thanks guys, I got SOF2 and SOF at CompScrewUSA....$35 for both.

So.....should I play SOF first, or is it not good enough to bother with?

Toothpick-- Doom.....hehe....yeah, I can remember comin' home from work at night, turnin' all the lights off and sound up. My gf laughed, cause I'd be backin' up with the mouse, and backin' up with my chair at the same time. That game scared the dawg outa me.

SOF is definately worth playing, but I was only able to play it upto a point. When the magic bullet became to anoying I just had to give up. Now in SOF2 the magic bullet senario is just starting to anoy me again. It's nice and all but come on. In some cases the reaction time is in miliseconds and get hit from across the map

Nic,

Is the "magic bullet" effect worse than the sniper level on MOHAA? At first, on that level, I was really hacked about it. But, I got over it when I realized that it was actually do-able, and I could get a clue as to where they were.

in my humble opinion, in MOH it was a one time thing and it was part of that particular scenario but in SOF1 and 2 it's as if the magic bullet gradually increases as you go and at one point it just anoyed me so much that I said 'that's it'. It's like your a walking super magnet or something and I just didn't find it enjoyable anymore and stopped playing it. MOH was difficult at times but it never anoyed me to a point to put it out, I loved it to the end.

Don't get me wrong I still say that MOH is much better playwise than SOF2 but SOF does have eye candy that worth seeing and experiencing. If SOF2 would have had the 'exact' engine as MOH, then you would have had a game to write home about and without a doubt I would tell anyone to buy it just like MOH.

From what I now know with SOF2 I just don't know if I would recommend to buy it, I'll put it this way, if you have money to burn sure, if you don't mind a potentially difficult game then go for it, however if MOH did anoy you then forget it because SOF is much worst. As to is it worth buying, it's better answered by you.

Nic,

At least in MOHAA, I felt that I could just keep trying different things, and I was able to get through the levels eventually. With the exception of being at the shingle, and having to jump from crater to crater to get to the concrete bunker. I finally had whacked my monitor upside the head so much that I gave up and used god mode, just for that one little part, from shingle to bunker.

I have to say, it would be hard to imagine a FPS being better than MOHAA. The beach landing was amazing. I'll buy the next one in an instant. I'll probably give SOF1 a go before SOF2.
