I hated they spent so much time on the Theon thing, but a lot of the later on, Holy Mother of

I liked the way Davos got the Iron Banks attention.

I expected to see more happen tonight actually, but the setup for later is almost worth it and being well done.

I expected them to talk to Cersei first, before they funded Stannis. Like in the books. I wanted to see her be a bitch and mess things up.

In the books the iron bank sent people to westeros to talk. Just seemed like wasted money to build that set when they could have just had three representatives show up in an existing set.

Also, that episode sucked. Except for Tyrion's ending speech it was trash I thought.

I was wondering if they were going to get rid of the Theon storyline with that rescue attempt also and honestly wouldn't had minded it as it mostly sucked for so long.

Although I would wonder if the fake wedding they do at Winterfell was too important to keep him around.

Meh, Jeyne Poole isn't even a character in the show. The boltons have just kinda taken over no questions asked on the show.

They added a lot of pointless stuff in this episode that doesn't take place in the books. I don't mind it when they add stuff as long as it's important like the White Walker scene a few eps back. This episode other than the trial was rather pointless.

Seems to me like they may be intentionally slowing down the good events in book 3 to make up for all the stuff they are likely going to have to cut from books 4 and 5 simply because they were awful. I can't wait to see all the RAGE in the TV thread when Dany's entire story becomes some stupid soap opera where absolutely nothing happens for the next 3 seasons of TV.

There is some excitement in her story.

For romance, she starts sleeping with Daario. Then there is Quentyn getting scorched, and then the fighting pits and the dragon taming.

She'll be gone for a while I would think because the courtship takes time, as well as the whole peace in the city before opening the fighting pits, but I don't see that taking that long.

Maybe my timing is off though.

I am certain Tywin is going to notify Dany of Jorah's betrayal in the coming episode. That should at least give hope for him and Tyrion to travel together.

Yea, the small council meeting they discuss how she has two seasoned warriors counseling her. So Tywin may do something like that in order to mess her up.

His words were about getting a message to Mereen. I only assume it is to Dany about Jorah, possibly disrupting one of her councilmen. I wouldn't put it past Tywin to mention both Jorah and Selmy though.

During the small council meeting, he asked Varys if he could get one of his little birds into Mereen and when he responded with the affirmative, he told the Tyrell to fetch his ink and paper. I am only making the assumption he is writing a letter to someone and Dany is the most likely person in Mereen for it to be delivered. It might end up not being an admittance, but further spy orders he expects to be intercepted by Dany.

Also, I was expecting the shepherd supplicant to be the one who lost his kid.

He could say that Selmy knew of Jorah being the spy and hid that information, which would be consistent with the book.

I like how they are showing how bad Dany actually is at ruling.

Nah, I think they are going to go through her entire ADWD storyline in Season 5, wouldn't be surprised if they completely finished both AFFC and ADWD in 1 season. Not that much happens, it is all mostly sidestories/background stuff.

It was still good, you're just being a bit harsh

I think people were probably griping a bit about not enough fighting perhaps, the Theon thing did have a lot of that.

Can't have pure gold every week.

Maybe 18 Karat instead of 24 this week.

Nice set up though for things.
