this promo pic is giving me Lady Stoneheart vibes.

I'd be amazed if they manage to sneak Michelle Fairley in to film an episode and kept it quiet.

Didn't they show her in a preview? And, if they didn't, they have no reason to "sneak her in". They could easily use the pretext as "flashback for LF stuff".

Oh well, it is interesting hearing the theories in the other thread about who will be named in the trial by combat.

I don't think you'll be seeing Brienne with Lady Stoneheart anytime soon, that doesn't happen until the end of AFFC, which could be several seasons away since they'll probably weave AFFC and ADwD back together somehow.

Eh, I don't think that is a good argument to make. I don't see how they can make AFFC & ADWD more than 1 season and stick to their 7-8 total season plan. Next season is going to cover all of AFFC/ADWD IMO.

Not even close. They will follow the chronological order of AFFC / ADWD and jump between the East and Westeros. There is no way they are covering all that in a single season. I would imagine Arya is going to get significantly more screen time once she leaves for Braavos, thankfully (she is my favorite character in the book, after GoT, and in the show).

That's only the TV show. In the books he put all the blame on Amory Lorch who had already been killed. He wanted to keep Gregor. Which is one of the reasons Oberyn agreed to be Tyrion's champion, to fight the Mountain.

True. But he doesn't attempt to stop Cersei from naming the Mountain as her champion knowing that it would be possible that Oberyn would be Tyrion's champion. Tywin isn't smart enough to realize that Oberyn might volunteer? And that Oberyn poses a big risk to the Mountain?

Maybe that would be giving Tywin too much credit, but he is extremely cunning.

And then what, you get 2 season for the last 2 books? There is no way they can do that. I enjoyed AFFC/ADWD, but it is A LOT of filler which is not needed for the main storyline. Hell, Brienne and Bran are already into their book 4 & 5 material. Bran is going to meet Bloodraven and the children at the end of this season (bloodraven was cast for this season), what else is there for him to do, he gets some training next season, which is 2 or 3 episodes, then what?

I wonder if we are going to get to see cersei's walk of shame this season? Lena headey hasn't shown the good in the show at all has she?

It would be too quick for that scene to appear in season 4. The plan is set for 7 season in total (with 2 more new books forthcoming) I believe, so you can get a rough idea on the pacing. Lena is always covered up except in season1 with Jamie in the tower so the walk will be all the more shocking.

Almost there

Maybe the Hound does know chicken, I was going to casually chop up the thing and I changed my mind and got out a huge butcher knife, told my wife watch this and went old school overhand executioner chops on it.

The wife was like wtf you doing at first, then was, ya know that was pretty impressive, after two perfect big chickie breast laying there.

Two smacks and most of the chicken ready to go

Just taking it down, I don't need more grief.

If you could the quote would be appreciated, but immaterial now maybe.

I've even caught flack for even posting about the other one over here before.

You don't have to be a "closet book reader" to speculate as you hang out here all the time.

That and you obviously are one.

Shea :whiste:

Still can't believe I caught all that grief over that one and saying weddings are interesting.

Why you're able to still post there beyond me.

Hell, I got jumped on just for saying I didn't understand the big deal about spoilers. I didn't actually spoil anything for anybody, but I got called worse names than I've ever been called in person. lol

So who will get the blame for killing Lysa? I didn't see a singer in the room...I guess some poor unfortunate soul will walk in the room right afterwards and get all the blame.

Oberyn is rash, more like a Jaime, whereas Doran Martell is the calculating one (the current head of Dorne, and was the one invited to Kings Landing in the first place), I'm pretty sure Oberyn's move surprised everyone. But even after making the move I'm pretty sure Tywin saw the two most obvious outcomes:

1. Oberyn dies and Dorne cannot do anything about it, effectively stifling the staunchest voice from Martell against Lannister.

2. The Mountain dies and while he would lose a useful tool, Dorne would at least be appeased by the 'justice'

of course, the unexpected happens and both end up dying

and then the unexpected happens again and Qyburn turns Gregor into Robert Strong...

and of course Tywin is already dead anyway, killed via crossbow by his own son while shitting...so obviously he wasn't cunning enough

Tywin is pretty muc h the Vincent Vega of GoT. He is cool, but taking a shit at the wrong time gets him killed.

So maybe I missed it in the books, but wasn't there quite a bit of speculation about what Brienne may have said to Lady Stoneheart to get her life spared? My memory tells me that Brienne and Pod never explicitly met Hot Pie in the books and he never told them Arya was alive. If that's the case, and if we assume that the show changes/additions (that aren't in the books) are accurate (like the Night's King), then would it not make sense that Brienne's last word was "Arya?"

IIRC, it is never revealed what she says and it was assumed (via preview chapter or something, I believe) that Brienne survives this ordeal. I think it is likely she reveals the location of Sansa or Arya (if she even knows at that point).

In the show, I believe they are avoiding much of the speculation and simply going straight forward, answer all questions on first pass style. Oleanna and LF outright admitting they killed Joffrey, the Night's King and what was happening with Craster's sons, etc.

Do you mean Sansa?
