This has been a terrible, drawn out season. Too much time spent on half ass development of minor characters (like the romance with Grey Worm, who the fuck cares??). There's only so much screentime. Move the story forward.

you realize they're about to finish off books 4 and 5 all in 1 season, right?

Also really hope GRRM grows his balls back and actually starts killing off characters instead of continually adding more characters and throwing in multiple near death experiences

But we may have some good news. Whether or not Jon will live, die, become resurrected or warg into the body of Ghost is unknown, but thanks to details about contracts, we have somewhat of an idea. Last year, The Hollywood Reporter learned that Harington was one of a handful of "GoT" actors who signed on through Season 6 and "completed an extensive renegotiation" for a potential Season 7. While nothing is official, it seems likely Jon isn't going to be gone for good.

and there is this said by G.R.R. Martin when he was asked about a certain character's last PoV chapter by an interviewer....

Oh so you think he's dead do you?

And the odd coincidence that people never seem to actually die in their own PoV chapters.

some examples.

Night's Watch deserter at the beginning witnesses his comrades' deaths but he dies in Bran's PoV

Ned, his beheading is from Arya's PoV.

Robb at the red wedding is from Caitlin's PoV and while she apparently dies in that chapter as she feels the dagger cutting into her neck (iirc) the epilogue reveals that it's not quite so.

Renly's death is witnessed in Caitlyn's PoV.

Arya leaves the Hound for Dead... but we don't know that he is dead.

Jon's getting back-stabbed by Ollie. That's a done deal.
Ceseri's walk of shame is guaranteed.

non-book readers will revel in Ceseri one minute/scene then be given Jon's story to gnash their teeth on for 9 months. It's going to be glorious.

Jon will even up living. I don't doubt that for a minute.

Obliviously not my original thought, but the theory I'm betting the house on:

Aerys Targaryen + Joanna Lannister = Tyrion
Rhaegar Targaryen + Lyanna Stark = Jon
Danyeres + Tyrion + Lyanna = Three Headed Dragon

care to explain? I dont get why filming would be such a big deal.

a local church that was to be used for part of the setting in the town where they film in Croatia threw a shit fit.

they eventually reached a compromise that they'd film in-town, but the church scenes would be done on a set.

Pretty much shows how horribly unfocused those books were.

they didn't need to be focused, I loved all that extra story, and right now the books are way more built up than how simplified the show is shaping up to be

if you can't handle the foreplay, the orgasm is going to come cheap and feel that way too

I do think the extra story was good. It reflects an acknowledgement that characters other than the main ones are invested in their own plans and goals. It added to the story. Now it could be argued that there was too much detail.

And television as a medium is quite different from books. What is extra world building and rewarding detail in a series of books can be material that in a television show is indicative of meandering and unfocused story telling. At the very least watchers of television shows aren't normally required to learn complicated family trees and histories of events 10-15 years ago and even beyond to extract the most enjoyment out of a series. The GoT series had to be adjusted and changed from the books there is no real way around it that HBO is willing to fund.

To keep most of the material in the books the seasons of GoT might need to be 15-20 episodes.

I still believe that both versions of the story are quite good, but they will increasingly be different in the details and sometimes the broad strokes of the story.

Some of the stuff left out of the shows was good (Aegon, for example, and the whole Tyrion kidnapping), but some of it was painful to read and terrible (Iron Isles...)

Also, a certain poster has returned to the GoT thread and is crying about spoilers, which haven't been posted since last season. I should just go post a big

JON DIES!

and accept my punishment. >_>

So I remember wanting to look up the Wildling woman who sided with Tormund and ended up dying by zombie children.

I recall her looking quite attractive despite the attempts by the makeup people to make her appear unkempt and like a wildling.

Well...

sure she may not be someone that would be in Maxim's 100 list but she's out of my league.

Nah, just leave it alone.

I have been.

Will probably be seen here anyways, I'm pretty sure someone comes here also and just likes starting conflict, of course.

only Caitlyn and Ned had POV chapters. The others are important characters but don't have their own POV saved the people in the prologue. Each prologue of each book (I think) has the death of the POV character though. They changed up who dies at the beginning for the television show but Will dies in his own prologue in the book.

Hell, Gilly is even pretty hot IMHO.

They dress her down a lot in the show I imagine.

I'd laugh, just because he is so uptight, and wants desperately to act like GRRM doesn't even exist.

I agree with mongrel though.

After Sunday, there's really not much left to spoil. Show will have more or less caught up.

Unless they wanna bitch some more about ancient history of places like Essos. And yes, they've complained about that too. Ridiculous.

I thought the common 3 headed dragon theory was Dany, Jon & Tyrion, and they are all blood relatives?

Also, aside from Maise Williams and Gwendolyn Christie, and the gal that played Caitlyns sis, are there any ugly girls on thus show? Even Gilly is cute.

They certainly dress some of these girls down, but I don't think Gilly is anywhere near cute. Even if you put a bunch of hundred dollar bills on her face, I'd avoid it.

yup, she stars as an antagonist in Pitch Perfect 2, and has Anna Kendrick's character questioning her own sexuality
