Sorry, but this is yet another thread about is xx > yy?

I am trying to build a SFF system and I am not a gamer. I am trying to decide on a video card with subject to the following:

Should have DVI support
Should have around 128 MB memory
Should be around $70 shipped
Should support Directx9.0
Should be new
AGP only

Which one is better , the 9550 ATI or the Nvidia 5200? I am currently looking at this one:
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=GA-9550TD&c=pw

which seems decent enough.

Also,

http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=GA-FX5200#
but this series seems to have a 64 bit memory bus only.

What would you recommend? Also any other cards I should look at or you would recommend?

Thanks in advance!

If you want DX9 support, where support actually means it runs at playable framerates, then forget about any NV 5xxx cards, they have abysmal DX9 performance. On the other hand, if you're not a gamer, then it shouldnt matter if it supports DX9 or not, because any DX version is backwards-compatible with all previous versions, so for Windoze and regular apps it shouldn't matter. Just be sure not to get a 64-bit card, because you will suffer a significant performance hit.

I agree. The 9550 should be sufficient for your needs. Though if you want, save another $50 or so and get an AGP GF6200. That would hold you over especially if you do end up wanting to play some games down the road, and you could possibly soft mod it to a 6600. Though if you don't want to do that, well, then the 9550 should be enough.

A local San Diego store (Comp 1, I believe...) is selling a Radeon 9600 128MB for $66 dollars. I consider that a good deal.
