A young cat is trying to adopt me as its new owner, what should I do?

Ok, I live in a new development. Only 12 houses with people in them now.

Was talking to the people building a house across the street tonight and up walked with cute young gray/white cat. The cat started getting all friendly with us so it has obviously been around people before. I am guessing that it was abandoned out here by someone.

Now that we were nice to it the cat wants to move into my house. I did NOT feed it or give it water or anything, it just likes me I guess.

It tried to follow me into the house and last I looked it was sitting on one of my front porch chairs keeping guard.

I really don't want a cat because I tend to be allergic to many of them. So keeping it is not a great option.

So I need suggestions on what to do if cat is still there tomorrow.

The best pet I have ever owned was a stray cat that adopted me. I took him in and tried to find a home for him and nobody wanted him so we kept him.

Miss that little guy ever time I think of him.

Feed it, and don't forget the water. Keep healthy, and take the time to find it a home. I'm sure someone will adopt it.

Adopt it or take it to the SPCA or whatever the organization is called for you.

It would probably make a really good pet.

Feed him/her and it will never go away.

Although last time I looked it was still sitting on the front porch so it may not be going away as it is.

May have to take it to a shelter or something.

Becoming a cat owner is something that I would have to think about for a long long time.

Cats are good company. Feed/water it, and see how make out regarding allergies. I never thought I wanted a cat until I got a cat. An old girlfriend made me pull over to rescue a stray kitten, I've had stray cats ever since.

Cat allergies go away as you get used to them.

They absolutely do not, in my experience.

However, a single zyrtec every day is more than enough to make it unnoticeable for me.
