Dont think so, 22nm Core i3 will have lower power consumption even at 100% load. But and that is a BIG but, FX6300 power consumption in gaming will not be that much higher. Using 970 Chipset instead of the 990FX will lower power consumption between 10W to 15W at full load. At idle FX6300 at default 3500MHz on a 970 chipset motherboard with HD7770 + 128GB SSD was measured at ~50W.
