A64 3500+ Guessing game

It goes from $350 to $410 now. Always out of stock too. Can anyone guess when the price will settle and the stock will be steady? Also, any 3600+ or 3700+ on the horizon?

The ETA for the 3500+ at Newegg is 8/16. Monarch is suppose toget them 8/19. I'd watch next week to see if they come back in stock and what the prices do. If this was a temporary glitch, the prices should drop back to the $350 range after a week(?) or so.

I don't thing AMD has any plans for a 3600+ or 3700+ in a 939 socket. I assume that you're not asking about the 754 socket, because the 3700+ has been out of awhile. Here is the latest roadmap that I've seen.

Considering that the 3500+ will remain the low end S939 chip until sometime in Q4 when the 3300+ hits, I wouldn't expect price to change significantly from where it is now. Couple that with the dual channel delusion most buyers are under and the limited supply from AMD and I would expect the chip to command a price premium for the rest of Q3.

I think the whole socket 939 platform will settle latest early next year. By then they will sell more have more powerfull/and less powerfull cpus for the whole platform, making it more attractive. Hence pricecuts. I would really like a socket 939 platform aswell, and im really in need for an upgrade. But seeing as the most intense gaming I do atm is Ragnarok anyway I'll just wait until next year. Hopefully nFORCE 4 will be out by then aswell.

It's still $350 at http://www.buyxtremegear.com if you're willing to risk it.. according to the reseller ratings the in stock indication on the site is always wrong, and they charge your card right away. So if it's not in stock, they'll hold onto your money.
