Hey. I've read through the FAQ thread and didn't find any particular info for my question, so I'm asking it generally. I have a bad BIOS (flash death situation) on my A7N8X Deluxe (rev 1.04 board). The replacement BIOS for the board is ordered but is on back-order until February (imagine that). I have in my possession a replacement BIOS for an A7N8X non-Deluxe board, and I am wondering what kind of issues I'd be facing if I tried the BIOS chip in the Deluxe mobo.
The proper replacement BIOS is a PMD Flash or SST, FL49004 chip. My A7N8X non-Deluxe BIOS replacement is an FL49020. I believe the voltage issue isn't a problem, but there are obviously some differences between the chips.
I am imagining that I'll be looking at some lost function and that my board will essentially become a non-Deluxe version of the A7N8X if the BIOS works at all. Am I risking anything else by trying the chip in the Deluxe board?
Thanks in advance for responses. Peace!
