Hey Everyone
To all of you that use the Asus A7N8X Deluxe, I was wondering what ram you are using. I am going to be using an overclocked XP1700 or XP2100. Looking to get a single 512 chip. Let me know what ram is treating you right !

I am running Corsair XMS PC2700 (2x256) with no problems, though I have had Kingston ValueRam on this same board (PC2700) with no problems. If you are going to overclock, got with the Corsair IMO. Good RAM with no problems.

Personally i dont own that board, but just so you got an idea in difference between RAM. A friend has your board and brought himself 2*256mb Kingmax PC3200, with that running machine was sweet but not performing like other ASUS A7N8X deluxe users, so on recommendation he got CORSAIR TWINX PC3200 2*256mb. The Performance increase was quite scary it ranged from 15% in windows applications to 22% in games. Now im not saying get CORSAIR TWINX because they are not cheap BUT it shows what the difference can be by spending a little more money on QUALITY ram. I'm sure other users will be in better position to recomend the exact RAM for your board.

P.S. He does not overclock the PC, he runs with normal BIOS settings.

In terms of QUALITY, I think the cheaper ones will also do, for example, the Original Samsung, or True Samsung as many of you call it (NOT the 3rd party ones). Personally, I think the Corsair XMS modules are way too expensive; yes they have very good timings but the performance yield is not that much, or that you'll only see it in benchmarks but won't notice that during everyday use.

I just came across this little article in Xbitlabs which has benchmarks at various timings at 400FSB on nForce2.

I bought Corsair 3200C2 to go with my board, and I love it. This mem has done up to 205 on this board @4-2-2-2 timings, board cannot go higher yet. The Corsair, as well as other DDR is falling daily from what I have seen, I know that a stick of 512 2700 can be had for under 100 now, and a friend of mine found a 3200 stick for about 110 a lttle over a week ago. Anyway, all I can say is it works great for me so far.

Running 1024MB Corsair TwinX XMS PC3200LL @ 207 x 11.5 cas 2-2-2-5-1T on a A7N8X-DLX Rev. 2 w/ Crush-18D SPP. I just got the board last week and didn't try pushing it too far (as that's what killed my first board's bios). I'm waiting for my Barton 2500+ and BIOS savior to come in on Thursday; I'll probably push the FSB further then.

I think the new BIOS enables FSB options up to 250Mhz, though I'm not entirely sure...

If you're going to overclock, get the Corsair TwinX LL (low Latency) RAM. I'm running Samsung DDR400 and my FSB magically doesn't run stable above 400MHz (I wonder why?)
