A7N8X-X???

Is A7N8X-X better than A7V600? Does A7N8X-X support one piece of SAMSUNG DDR400 512MB?
Which is better overclocker.....By the way I plan to use "Barton 2600+"

well, it depends on what you mean by better? if you look at some benchmarks , you'll see that the nforce2 400 chipset (the one the a7n8x-x uses) generall scores higher than the kt600 (a7v600). both boards will support your ram. as for overclocking, i'm not sure. the a7n8x-x has been a good overclocker for many, haven't heard much on the a7v600 (haven't looked either ).

the main difference is extra features.. the a7v600 adds onboard wifi, sata support, as well as a ADI AD1980 SoundMAX onboard audio with spdif output instead of the realtek alc650 on the a7n8x-x.

i guess you could say the a7n8x-x is more of the performance board, while the a7v600 is the feature rich board.

As the owner of both boards I can tell you the A7N8X-X has fewer FSB options (200FSB max with the BIOS loaded on mine...can't remember which one) but scores about 1300 more points in 3Dmk2k1se with the same videocard/CPU/RAM/HDD at the same FSB/multiplier and frequency. But the A7V600 has native SATA in the south bridge and Gb LAN. Out of the two I still think the A7N8X-X is the better board.

I am thinking of getting the A7n8X-X then...by hte way is the heatsink on it different from A7n8X ddeuxe? on their website its a black puny thingie

A7N8X for sure is better than any KT600 based board IMO

I have 2 of these boards at work... no complaints whatsoever on how they run.. solid and fast. Xp2600+ CPU's using Generic PC3200 DDR
