A7V133 Temperatures too high!

I just got myself an A7V133.
It's got the 1001C bios and i've also got a tbird 900 with an FOP 32.
So, my problem is: My temperatures are between 55-60C (idle, depending on if my case is open or not).
The system temperatures are around 30-40C (again depending on if the case is open or not)
Btw, I haven't removed the thermal pad from the bottom of the FOP 32 heatsink, nad my system is not overclocked (running 9x100, ram at 133, optimal settings)

I think my temperatures are too high, but I've heard it's a problem with the ASUS chip measuring differently from the VIA southbridge. So the same temperature can be measured as 55C on the ASUS chip (A7V mobo) or as 40-45 with the VIA southbridge (on other mobos).

Can anyone verify or reject this?
A7V133 Owners: Please post your temp/CPU/heatsink please!

Thanx!

I know. I wanted to remove it from the beginning, but I'll remove it now, when I do the pencil trick..
Anyway, I thought it wouldn't make such a difference.
I just wanted feedback on the difference between the ASUS and VIA temperature measurements.

The Asus Probe the software program the monitors cpu temp etc..reports on my Tbird 1.2ghz about 7-10c higher temp...if I go into the bios reports temp are lower.

Yes Asus Probe reports the temps about 10C higher then the BIOS or MBM5 does for the A7V133.

Im getting 39c with the case open and 41 with it closed when doing light work. After playing MDK for awhile it goes up to 42 or 42.5 with the case closed.

I just put the machine together so I'll have some more readings later in the week.

My temperatures are also quite high. About 50 degrees for the cpu and 35 degrees for the motherboard/system. I don't know about full load. I'm using a Taisol cgk742092 heatsink and some artic silver. System is a Asus A7V133 with a Thunderbird 1100@1224.
I have no case cooling. Could that be the problem?

I'm running a TB 900 on an a7v (non 133) and like you, asus probe reported temps in the high 50's to low 60's on the cpu and temps in the mid to high 30s for the mother board. The BIOS temp reading however report a significantly lower cpu temperature (by as much as 10 degrees celcius). Any how, I took out asus probe and installed mother board monitor 5. Now, the temperatures of the BIOS and MBM5 match up almost exactly and I'm all the more happier. CPU temps of mid to high 40's and mother board temps of low 30's. - good luck

Yeah, I noticed the probe temperature is about 10 degrees higher. The temperature of my cpu is about 50 degrees in the bios and with Asus probe it is 60 degrees idle! The 50 degrees idle is what I'm worried about. It's now winter time and my room temperature is quite low, but in the summer time my room temperature can be quite high. I had some problems with earlier systems I had, they started overheating.
I'll buy some case fans. I hope some airflow will bring my temperature down.
