Thanks for review with HP 15 A8-6410, will wait for update benchmarks with graphics R7 m260. Youtube user with HP 17z A8-6410 and R7 m260 put up video last week with Battlefield 4 running 1600 x 900 medium.

Europe sellers like Misco also showing HP 15 A8-6410, R7 m260, 12 GB DDR3, 1920x1080, HD+8GBSSD for Euro 495. That looks like big discount!

http://www.misco.nl/product/3001732...-8GB-SSD-DVDRW-AMD-Radeon-R7-M260-Windows-8-1
Nah it is no discount I am from the Netherlands and it is ~500 without the tax and 600 with tax. In germany you however can get a similair laptop with 6GB instead of 12 for 500 euro which is an amazing deal.

Will post when I have the results for the M260

Thanks for review of HP laptop with A8-6410 and Radeon 8570m. Other reviewers had HP A8-6410 and m260 combination and running games with discrete graphics only. There is big interest if A8-6410 can have good performance boost with dual graphics.

Your review also mention waiting for new AMD Kaveri laptops and mobile website today mentions new ASUS X550ZA HD and FHD (1980 x 1080) laptops with Kaveri.

hello there,
unfortunately the amd a8 has r5 graphics and dedicated graphics is 8570m (previous Gen) as a result the dual graphics option is greyed out.

for good thing the onboard r 5 is 60-80 percent as good as 8570m so I end up running older games like cod 4 on onboard graphics.

for bad thing, the 8570m runs very hot and even with largest Laptop cooler 250mm fan the gpu temperature touches 83.c....

btw, any improvement you suggest about the review?

These a8-6410 notebook APUs are just a half-assed attempt at rebranding the a6-6310

It's why you get stuff like

and why this started happening

and 1800MHz, R4 graphics are a6-6310 specs.

Power comsumption at idle and let say with CB 11.5 , also with onboard Gfx only , this should give some clues about Beema efficency.

My problem is with the branding, for it to say 2.00GHz and R5 graphics, only for me to get a laptop and it's actually 1.8GHz and R4 graphics. A8-6410 doesn't exist, not that there was much difference between the supposed specs between it and A6-6310 anyways.

Atleast there is 0.2Ghz jump. Also the A8 6410 can turbo much Longer. Almost continuous.

Most graphics cards are straight re-name rather than improvements.

In the second image I have the processors set to 100%, and despite what the specs say, the base frequency is 1.8GHz, which is the A6-6310's base frequency. So I don't think there is even a 0.2GHz jump.

when gaming on power,
my cores stay Almost at 2.4ghz. speccy and task manager both can't be wrong. I'll get a screen shot soon.

is your laptop overheating or throttling?

I just ordered the HP Pavilion x360 - 13z Touch (G3S52AV) with this processor in it. This seemed the most powerful tablet style I could find with Windows.

Does anyone know if it's overclockable or not? I have a PNY 240GB SSD lying around I may install in it. Is RAM upgradable in this thing? Can the CPU be upgraded either?

Does the keyboard get disabled when flipped in tablet mode? It seems like it would have to be or you'd be accidentally hitting keys.

Is this going to beat the HD 4400 in graphics performance? I was going to get the i5-4210U, but assumed the AMD graphics were superior, but from what I've been reading this may be wrong.

This is mostly for office type work, but I will also be playing a lot of my 3D-games on it. Civilization 5, Company of Heroes, Simcity 2013, Galactic Civilization, Beyond Earth, and others.

Is there a more powerful tablet type I can get with better graphics performance?

Thanks for any help.

Those web surfing numbers look great for the full system. Is it possible for you to do separate battery life tests/rundowns on web browsing and video playback?

I haven't checked the video playback, I always end up starting cod black ops or battlefield 3!
but it shouldn't be more than 10w

for the web surfing 5-6watts on a 41w small Battery could still yield over 6 hours.

what's magical Is power consumption with screen off. I guess 2.5-3 w shouldn't be wrong much to say. and we can have a 10-12 hour download or ftp station!

Today I had a nice long session playing COD 5 WAW on battery. I am blown away at the Tiny Onboard APU. A Comfortable 30FPS on Onboard R5 6410 Graphics, 4x AA, 16x AF, 720p
The GPU 1 and Mem 1 (8570M dGPU) is totally turned off

Amazing performance with just 128 Shaders.

if the Intel one is significantly cheaper, you can go for it. please bear in mind that celelon and Intel graphics are totally low end and won't be great for multimedia.

if the prices are similar. get the a8 eyes closed. you get MUCH better performance and graphics. also Battery life is better.

Wow, how is that $70 more expensive now? You'd think prices would go down.

Aren't there any decent Beema laptops with a decent screen and speakers for under $400? How do manufacturers make dirt cheap tablets with nice hardware but crappy laptops

Are you certain the battery life is better with the Beema? That celeron only has a TDP of 7.5W and "SDP" of 4.5W
