about a week ago I had updated my bios on this board to the latest official version (1016). I was required to upgrade my chipset driver prior to the bios upgrade.
I'm not sure if it started happening exactly then since I was doing a bunch of other stuff (installing some periferals, doing some benchmarking) but....
Running windows XP Pro. When I do a shutdown either via the menu or pressing the power button, the box goes through the windows shutdown process to the point where the screen blanks out and I can hear the harddrive lock down. However, all the fans in the machine keep going. If I hold the power button down for several seconds, the machine shuts off just fine. If I hit the reset button, that works just fine. If I'm in the BIOS screen and I press the power button, the machine shuts down just fine.
Later today I'm going to revert back to BIOS 1008 and try to restore back to a savepoint before I installed the chipset drivers. This is making me a bit nuts though... has anyone seen this? I've done some googling around and not found anything applicable yet.
