Lol at my temps...i rearanged my fans in chiftiec big tower and now im getting lower cpu temps than those of of the mobo....lol

Now i get 30 cpu / 33 mb with stock cooler and zalman nb47j on idle any stuff to worry about?

I got 2 92 mm fans blowing in on the side(upper one directly on cpu, lower almost directly on northbridge and vid card, one 120 mm blowing out on the rear ps is sucking out air too...and one on the right side of the case 92 mm blowin on hdd...

That should be enough, shouldnt it?

What about those weird temps? Could i use ai nos with those kind of temps

Should i maybe put the lower side fan to blow out air...

I'm guessing it sounds like a tornado?

I've got this thermaltake xaser 8000a and its got 5 fans with two directly at the moba, probably like yours.

My temps are 35 cpu/ 35 mobo stable. I haven't done any tests to measure it under load.

What is a good stable temp for this cpu and mobo. I've got the same athlon 3000 and a8n-sli.

Well, good stable temp as it can be read by asus probe.

Does anyone have a thermometer in their case with real temps and how close asus probe comes to them.

Well not really a tornado...120 mm one is sharkoon silent meaning its not audible.

92mm ones are zalmans and if controlled by qfan they are silent enough...Problem is currently that i have reversed the side ones to blow air in and plugged the little cables that came with them (with resistors) now they are a bit too loud...but other than that...nothing one cant live with...

funny thing is that zalmans with resistors dont work very well with qfan...fan makes a lot of noise like when its spinning and u put a finger in to stop it...and just sits there...prolly has something to do with voltages...im no expert at that...

Is the "motherboard" temp reported under Asus Probe from a temp. sensor on the NF4 Chip? I want to swap out that little screamin' mimi (well, it's not really that bad, but I like to fiddle around with things while I wait for the graphics cards), but I want to make sure I can compare before and after temps before I do. If it really is the die temp of the chipset, it is not surprising a well-cooled CPU would show cooler.

Under 100% CPU load (been there for days) my (stock at present) 3200+ shows 38/35 CPU/Northbridge. Idle it's 30/34. So I don't think there's anything unusual with the CPU being lower.

Not I, said the cow. I heard that it was a overclocking barrier and never felt the need to test it to find out.

Anywho, my temps with an Arctic Silver 5 coated xp-120 (Vantec stealth 120mm) idle around 30c and the most I have ever seen it rise to is 46c under full load and overclock speeds / voltage. I'll soon be able to give input on the Zalman "northbridge" cooler since mine is on the way. From what I read it works well.

Definitely not. Mine shows 30C but the chip must be much warmer than that, my NB47J is hot to the touch.

For the CPU (3000+ @ 2200MHz) I get ~30 idle and ~39 load, stock cooler.

What kind of ambient temps are you all starting with? My temps according to the ASUS probe are something like 25C on MB, 27C on CPU (at idle), doesn't get above 29C ever.

I'm running 2x 80mm intake fans, 2x 80mm exhaust fans, Zalman 7700AlCu, Neopower 480- I guess lots of fans. It's actually very quiet.

It interferes with the NVSilencer5 replacement video card heatsink fan. I don't know why the hell I thought I could have both installed. Brain wasn't working that day.

Also, after installing the Zalman, I couldn't overclock nearly as much as before I removed the fan. I was able to get to 250 Mhz FSB (1:1 RAM) at 2T timings with the 8000 rpm fan and after installing the Zalman, I could only boot at 235 Mhz. However, the BIOS and overclocking have been so flaky in general, I'm not convinced it was the Zalman.

Oh man, I just installed my ZM-NB47J and im getting Asus Probe 2 readings of 46c/114f with the case off and 45c/113f with the case on. Hummm... thats a bit of an increase. I ran prime 95 for like 10min and didn't see any change. I just hope that those temps are good enough.

Perhaps I didn't get it seated right. I used a thin layer of arctic silver 5 and the heatsink is very warm, but I can rest my fingers on it without any problems so it's not that hot.

There seemd to be some raised lettering on the chipset that may be keeping the heatsink from getting a solid connection.

I'll do some testing and post what I find.

I had temps at 49c and everything ran all night just fine. The heat sink does get hot enough to the point where I don't want to keep my fingers on it for an extended period of time. I immagine if you were to have some good airflow over the chipset area you should be able to get better temps if that worrys you.

Bottom line, My overclock or stablity was not effected by the increased temps.

Horray!

I bought Zalman 7700 ALCu... I thought my temps are going to change drastically after using stock cooler...I was wrong...

(I got abig chieftec tower)

Temps were not so drastically changed 32/34 with one 1200 mm sucking out...two 92 mm blowing in ....

But i found that a bit loud for my taste...

So i played a bit with airflow....I unplugged the left side upper 92 mm (coz qfan supports only cha1(or 2?) and cpu for q fan(come on asus u couldve give us one more)

Now i did something seemingly unimportant ...i rotated the lower left side fan 90 deg and now with 1200 mm blowing out and one (lower left side) 92 mm almost silent im getting 31/31 temps idle (lowest 29/28)

After an hour of rome:total war temps were 45/32 and after quitting dropped quite rapidly...

I write all this because zalman nb47j seems to be good but it seems that it really does work better with some well thought airflow...

It is also funny that airfilters rise the temp for about 2 deg on nb47j..

Unfortunately i only use asus probe...

WHen using speedfan i get few more different temps...anybody knows?(temp1:31/temp2:31/temp3(?):25/hdd:29/temp1(again?):40

Confusing.
