Look down at the motherboards section...

yeh. in that picture, the a8n-sli premium is shown sporting the same exact fan that is found in the a8n-sli.

dudes, who cares bout the fan! it only costs about $5-$10 to replace, and the replacement you get will prob be more effective anyway!! (jesus people pussy moan bout the smallest things!!)

Umm...where did you come from, dude? First of all, that was an old message, when we didn't know ASUS was working on a fanless design.

Secondly, if the fan fails without you knowing about it, your board could be toast.

Thirdly, I'm using this in a fanless case, so the loud jet engine of a fan they have on the other boards is out of the question.

So, moan about me moaning all you want, but was your post really even worth posting?

Oh, and yeah, thanks for the double post. Way to get your post count up...

So, Dan, why are you holding out on us???

yes it does, and I just got mine today. Didn't come packed that well but it looks ok. It really sucks that I can't install it for another 8 hours when I get back from work. But at least I can tell you guys that it is indeed the heatpipe version.

What about the manual that comes with it. The E1952 version on ASUS download site is dated back in March, and if I remember correctly, had no information about the cool-pipe technology in it.

Has the printed manual been updated?

Xenvu (or anyone else), would you do me a huge favor and tell me the height of the radiator on the heatpipe cooler and its approximate distance from the center of the cpu? I'm really hoping that a Zalman 7700 will fit on there, and here's what their site says:

"No motherboard components with a height greater than 39mm (1.53inch), as well as the PSU, disk drives, VGA card, and RAM should be present within a 68mm (2.68 inch) radius from the center of the CPU."

it's just too hard to guess from pics...

Thanks!

According to the guy that posted on that thread (xtremesystems.org) a while back, he reached 300MHz for his memory, which is pretty close to the 318 on the DFI board. Need to verify the same setup though, to be sure which one performs better.

Does it matter which premium to get? There are 2 of them, the one with the cool pipe and the one with the heatsink fan. Does it make a difference on both of them?

I think the PREMIUM only comes with the heat pipe. The DELUXE comes with the fan.

Yeah, the Premium that shows having a fan was a pre-production board, it never really existed, ecept by some reviewers who were given the board to test.

I'll try and measure it tonight. Its really small and doesn't cover the whole chipset. I installed an xp-90c with a panflo fan. Temps are around 36-44c idle, haven't tested the load yet. I might have screwed up the heatsink mounting. Chipset temps were around 48-51c idle. The board itself is awesome, I had no problems installing it and getting it to boot the first time. My only problem is that my motherboard isn't detecting my cpu fan but the fan itself is spinning. Its not a big problem right now but I can't adjust the speed of the fan. I'm sure I could get it cooler if I could up the rpms on the fan. Can anyone post their temps so I can compare? Also, does anyone know how hot the chipset on the deluxe is? Asus says this mobo is 10c cooler than the other nf4 boards. It still seems a bit hot to me.

Thanks.
