Jacob...Jacob...Jacob...always fickle on your decision...one day it's "DFI RULZ", then it's "ASUS IS TEH L33T".

as soon as i get my pay check im getting this board... ive been waiting sooo long to get this... practically ever since the deluxe came out...

the overclocking ability doesnt matter to me... im not gonna be doing extream overclocking so in that sense i think this board is better than the DFI... can the dfi also take dual slot coolers? if not then thats another for the asus

finally this has sata 2... im pickin up a WD SE16 too!

theres some cheaper places on www.pricegrabber.com

they have weird names though

Nice of him to let us know!

Just got mine in from EastLuna today. Wow, there is a lot of stuff ASUS includes with their motherboards. The manual HAS been updated, for those interested, I just guess they haven't posted it to their web site yet.

It will probably still be some time before I get mine setup yet, as I'm still waiting on my case to get here. Got everything today, even from different stores!

I also upgraded the keyboard and mouse on my current PC, to the Logitech MX3100 combo. Wow, never typed on a keyboard this nice. It's almost like a laptop keyboard, but with the desktop keyboard spacing. The mouse (MX1000) was a welcome improvement over my MX700, which had a little jitter to it after about 3 years. The shape of the 1000 is also a little nicer...

Well, so ends my nagging about when this board would be available. I'm just glad I'm not still "hoping" for the A8N-E Premium to come out. While I don't need the SLI, I still think the $200 spent was well worth the product, espeically to get rid of that loud chipset fan.

Good luck to you all. I'll let you all know if I run into any problems.

A8n-SLI Premium Currently Running (update 2)

FSB: 311mhz x3
Memory: OCZ PC-4800 @ 2.5-4-3-5-((((1T)))) 622mhz v2.85
CPU- 3700+ San Diego @ 2800 v1.475

I think im close to maxing out the CPU and the memory's gotta be close as well, so i think im going to call it quits here.

Thanks for posting those results, do you mind posting your chipset and your cpu temps?

Thanks.

Wow, teamride, at first I thought those were deg. C, and I was like, uh, ooo...that doesn't look good. Those look like good temps to me.

fyi - ZZF shipped out my A8N-SLI Premium same day and I just received this morning at work. Very nice. Too bad, I still have to wait for my X2.

I hate to ask again, but how tall is the radiator on the heatpipe (next to the cpu socket)? Zalman's site hasn't been updated for this board yet, but if it's shorter than 1.53 inches then I can use a 7700 on the cpu... This is the only thing keeping me from buying the mobo! Any help would be appreciated!!!

Too bad Asus did not use the C-Media CMI8768+ sound chip. That would give the board Dolby Digital Live - and be comparable to Intel's HD sound found on their newer chipsets.

Hi. I'll have the same hardware as you by Thursday next week. I'm new to Overclocking, I was wondering if you would be kind enough to post your settings to get that overclock.

I do understand that no two boards of the same model is made alike, but they gotta be close.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated

I would shoot for 300 FSB if you are new to overclocking, the 311 setup took some tweeking and much more CPU voltage. My bios setup is as fallows

FSB - 300
PCI Express clock - 100
DDR V - v2.80
Chipset V - +1.5
HT V - +1.2
CPU V - 1.40
PCI Clock - 33.33

Hyper Transport - 3x
Max Memclock - 400
CAS - 2.5
Ras to Cas - 4
row precharge - 3
Row cycle time - 5
memory timing - 1T

the rest of the timings cant be changed, they just go back to the lowest settings after you exit the bios. if anyone has any info on this let me know.

You are a little too low on the 12V. Use a multimeter to test it directly on the 24-PIN and see if you get a better/more accurate reading. I think the 12V wires are the yellow ones (if my brain serves me correctly).
