Has anyone tried this combo out?

I have and I am unable to change the rpm of the fans.

Actually it is kinda weird, cause when I installed 4.20 I got 3 more fan adjustments vs 4.19 and about 5 more temp readings (although most of the new ones are readin 127 which is pretty damn high and might be because there really isn't a temp sesnor there)

Yes, I got the same bizarre readings using 4.20. Kinda spooked me a little with those 3 127 degree readings. Also, the fans didn't respond to that version. I went back to ver. 4.18.

As an aside, after I flashed to final bios 1003, my nforce chipset fan rpm's went down. now @ 7000 - 7600 rpm's.

It could be that little P.O.S. fan is on it's way out, though. What rpms you getting on fan 3?

Can you changes the RPM of the fans with v 4.18?
I am not sure which verison I was using before ( I htink it was 4.19 ) but I was unable to adjust fan speed in either...
My RPM on the chipset fan is over 8000, but I am on BIOS 1002.

I have a couple of case fans hooked up to the cpu and the fan 1 headers. (am water cooling) I can adjust the rpms on fan 1 and fan 2, but fan 3 is the chipset fan and speedfan 4.18 won't adjust that one for some reason.

The low rpms I'm getting on the chipset fan I now believe to be unrelated to bios changes. I think the P.O.S. chipset fan is going out on me.

In SpeedFan 4.20, click Configure, Advanced, then choose IT8712F. Now change "PWM 1 mode", "PWM 2 mode", and "PWM 3 mode" to "Software Controlled." Also check each one to remember the setting. You can now control the fans.

I can change the speed of the CPU fan and my case fan, but not the nForce 4 fan.

I've been having the same issue, not being able to change the chipset's fan speed with speedfan. Any further headway made with this, or should I just give up and get a passive cooler?

How do you adjust the chipset fan speed with AI booster? All I have fan-wise is a tab for QFan.

May be related for some of you. I just changed my chipset fan with a 4cm/4200rpm fan. REALLY easy (no need to take out the mobo), and it runs at about 3750rpm. I can't hear it, and the temp actualy dropped from what it was with the stock one running at 8800rpm.
Really happy with it.

What fan you used as a replacement? and how can you remove the old one? Was it expensive?

Hi Shaga- piece of cake. Just unscrew the face plate. Inside, unscrew 3 pins holding the fan on. Whats left is your heat sink. New fan: I bought an Ainex Adda (only 1cm thick) for about $10, but I'm sure any 4cm will work. I couldn't be bothered tracking down new 2mm screws/washers/bushings, so I just secured 2 corners to the HS pushpins with twist ties. Plugged it into the stock socket. Works like a charm. BTW, I have it pushing air into the heat sink. Lemme know how it works for you if you go that route.

My PC sounds relaxing now!
