Hi guys,
So i got a new case, and since the system was apart I decided to put in a XP-120 + Panaflo L1A, as well i thought i'd give the NB47J another shot since i wanted a "Silent" setup.
What was weird after the change of case was the CPU Temp + MB Temp at idle/load were higher than previous setup with STOCK AMD HSF, and STOCK Chipset fan.
I've had the NB47J in before but didnt' like how hot it was so stock was put back on. The MB temperature was the same with the NB47J and the stock HSF.
CPU = A64 3500+ Winchester
MB = Asus A8N-SLi
No Overclock.
Before (Stock AMD cooler, Stock NB HSF, also same temp with NB47J)
-------
CPU Idle = 30C
MB Idle = 30C
After case change, xp120, nb47j (reading with case open)
-------------------------------------
CPU Idle = ~35C
MB Idle = ~40C
Anybody know whats up? I am pretty sure the MOBO has not been mishandled/damaged, I was totally not expecting the CPU temp to be so high with the new xp120, nor did i expect the Mobo temp to change since the diode is not on the NB (and first time trying the NB47J, no temp increase)
I've tried clearning the CMOS using the jumper, it worked the first time, temps were ~5C cooler , after reboot, back to the high temp readings.
Anyways I've put back a stock Asus HSF if that matters, and the temps are the same.
I don't think the XP-120 is misseated at all, but i will check later.
Any Ideas? Can i remove the CMOS battery to clear it instead of using the jumpers?
