Ever since i updated to this BIOS i've been having nothing but problems. Every game i run with crossfire just takes a giant ****** and crashes. I can't downgrade to the 311 bios with Asus's software. Anyone have any ideas?

I dont have any problems in games, but I cant go above 1.4v on the CPU core. Same problem I had on the 0311 BIOS. Wonder why... ?

You can downgrade with the ASUS software if you go to -->Options and check "BIOS Downgradable" in the ASUS update sofware. Worked fine for me eventhough I don't have any issues with 0404.

Or did you mean that you tried it and it didn't work? In thatcase don't use the ASUS software, flash it old school with a floppy in dos.

Like Ackmed said, flash the BIOS back to 0311 using AFUDOS. Even though WinFlash and ASUS Update work for me I still like to flash the BIOS "the old fashioned way" with a floppy in DOS. Low level firmware and BIOS flashes always work that way and are still "safer". "Got floppy?"

I just updated to 0404 last night, and so far I've noticed that Q-Fan doesn't work so my CPU Fan runs at full speed (1,785 RPM) all the time, which is really annoying due to the noise. Q-Fan worked perfectly with 0311, running, CPU Fan at 1,384-1,440 RPM except while gaming or running something like Prime95.

The problem with 0404 is my Q-Fan settings are not saved in the BIOS even after confirming that I want to "Exit and Save Settings" in the BIOS. I am thinking about flashing back to 0311, but BF2 seems to run faster with 0404 so I don't really want to.

I had problems with 0404 at first, since i couldn't get my stable 2,6Ghz with my Opty 170 back which i had running a few weeks with 0311.

So i had to stick with 2Ghz since then.. however.. i took my pc apart so i could clean the CPU&cooler and put on less AS5 to improve temps abit.. For some reason i had to re-do BIOS options.. and it's working on 2,6ghz again with 1.4vCore

I don't habe the asus board. However, I am posting concerning floppy flashing. This is not considerd by any means the safest way of flashing, considering how easy it is for floppys to become corrupt. On the DFI boards we have a great cd which lets us do bios flashing in the safest manner possible (flashing from windows isn't reconmended either). I reconmend loading the flash program from a floppy if you have to (theirs probably a cd available somewhere) and then loading the bios from the harddrive or from the cd (if available). Avoid floppy and windows flashing if at all possible!

ASUS CrashFree BIOS 2 Utility will allow the OP to recover an updated or other BIOS from the original mobo CD as well. Unfortunately, the BIOS on the CD that shipped with the mobo is most likely v0201, which was plagued with various problems that are well-documented on various forums such as Anandtech and Extreme Systems.

So, unless the OP burns BIOS v0311 onto a CD, if he wants to use CrashFree BIOS 2 he or she will have to use re-flash to v0201 off the original CD, then perform another BIOS flash to 0311. I'm sure you agree that the more you mess with the BIOS the greater the likelyhood that something will get corrupted, no matter what method you use to flash the BIOS.

NEW BIOS 0502 posted recently. It is dated 0502, although this is the first time I have seen it. I am going to download it and flash my BIOS later today when I have time. Anyone flashed to 0502 yet?
