In my area, AAA charges $102 for one year of Plus membership. I can get a tow for that much, if not less, IF I need it. So why should I bother signing up?

I drive old beaters . Even though I have only used them a few times in 12 years as aPlus member for towing, it is peace of mind for me and the discounts ( vary by region ) help lessen the impact of he " membership " fee.
Usually they'll deal and give you an extra month or two for the price of 12 .

AAA comes in handy if you drive a lot. If you are stuck somewhere without gas or spare then it could be a lifesaver.

Might not be as good as AAA+ and what do you do when there isnt service? Or if your cell phone is dead?
