Well, let's see. It started a little while ago, when I was installing new drivers for my printer. Nothing special, just the HP Deskjet 932c. As setup is completing (right after it copied the drivers), it failed to show the message that setup was complete. I touched the mouse, and what do you know, its frozen. No big deal. So, I hit the 'ol reset button, and am greeted by a friendly shriek from my computers speaker. One long beep and two short beeps. I remembered looking at Epox's website, and I'm pretty sure that that beep code meant a video problem. I took out the video card, made sure the contacts were clean, smelled the heatsink (I don't know, it smelled funny when I bought it), and put it back in. I connected the monitor, hit the 'ol power button, and

Hmm. The next thing I did is based more on superstition than on actual evidence. The last time something like this happened, simply taking off my case fixed it. So, I tried it this time, and surprise, it worked! But not exactly. I put back on the case, and as I glanced back up, I noticed the status bar on ScanDisk was alternating from yellow to brown. This is not normal. I figured, what the hell, maybe my video card was bored. So, I waited for it to complete, and then the monitor went blank and gave me the "Monitor Out of Sync" something-or-other message. It then went black, and my computer ceased to do anything. I shut er off, turn er back on, and BLEEEEEEE BLIP BLIP. By now, I'm quite annoyed. I have to finish up a project for school, and I need to use the printer. So, I turn off the computer, turn it back on, and once again I get the same beep code. On a hunch, I decide to take off the case and turn it on. What happens? IT WORKS. This time, Windows actually loads without any problems, my printer is detected and the drivers install without a hitch. So I'm able to print my project. And that brings me to where I am now, typing up this blabber on Anandtech Forums. Which brings me to my question. I'm assuming that all of this is caused by my video card, so my question is - what the hell?
