Apple will come back, but it will take a while to reach $600 or higher again. Long 250 since 2006 at $71 so I will ride it out.

Has Apple posted a loss recently? Or have they not had billions in profit every quarter for the last several years. Everything is speculation, so far nothing shows Apple losing money, just growth. Which was predicted because its impossible for large companies to keep break neck growth because they'd eventually have to hit a trillion in revenue. In the mean time Apple keeps breaking its own records in selling phones/tablets.

Yes RIM had sold a lot of phones before its sort of demise. But it made no where near the profit and had posted multiple losses before its sort of demise.

What's significant is that for years, NOBODY could touch the iPhone on it's own playing field. There was no single manufacturer, let alone single smartphone model, that could come close to outselling the iPhone.

That's not true (apart from the single model bit). Until recently both blackberry and symbian phones were outselling iphones. When they faded Android phones started outselling iphones.

The days of Apple (and anyone else really) being able to get $600 for a phone are numbered. With the cheap but kind of decent Chinese A7 phones among others coming, it's only a matter of time before the carriers start pushing those more heavily and/or use it as an excuse to slash the subsidy, if not eliminate it completely. T-Mobile is only the beginning.

You can pretty much say that the Apple growth cycle is over.

Agree.... I see smartphones becoming a commodity eventually. no one gives a crap about graphing calculators anymore or even basic calculators. At one time, they were a big deal.
