Abandoned Kitten

I heard cow's milk won't do. The little fella looks to be a few days old. I found it dirty and crying earlier today. Brought it in, warmed a towel and wrapped it up. I normally hate cats but feel bad for the little guy since his mom left him. Any tips would be appreciated. No money for a vet trip so that's out of the question.

Hmm damn, I'm not entirely sure what you would feed it.

You're going to have to go to a pet store and see if there is any kitten formula.

And be ready to feed it about 15 times a day.

Probably more than you want to do for someone who doesn't like cats. You should be able to take it to a shelter, but it probably won't stand much of a chance there either.

Nice link. Two of the three cats at my parents house were abandoned very young, one with a distended bowel (I think is the right term?) We had a vet's help getting them back to health, but that page is pretty much what the vet said to do.

There were three of them, but one of them died from a random viral infection that caused it great joint pain. It lasted about 36 hours after getting sick. poor Telle.

Thanks guys. Well I thought it was a few days old but its eyes are opened. It's tiny. I found a heating blanket so it should be getting warmed up. I'll go and try to find some kitten formula.

I don't think normal cow milk will work at all, my cat throws up whenever she drinks it.

A folded towel makes a decent bed. You can use rags if you are worried about it peeing. Also, you probably want to get some cat litter. The kitten *should* automatically go for it.

it's at least 2 to 4 weeks old if it's eyes are open, you may need to stimulate it to have bowel movements also.
