Today I learned that Texas' super awesome deregulated free market power grid--the same grid that can't keep people from freezing to death after an ice storm--has provided 40% of all the energy used to mine Bitcoin in the US.

I feel bad for the people who did not vote for Abbott. Remember when TX wanted to succeed from the US under Obama's We the People petitions. I cannot help but think not letting go through with it was a mistake, #ThanksObama!

Also 7 years and counting and still no trial for the wonderful Texas AG https://news.yahoo.com/seven-years-later-still-no-041920413.html

from your own post.
"His attorneys point out that Paxton invoked his right to a speedy trial and blame the holdup on special prosecutors, who have spent years in a protracted battle over how much they're getting paid and where the case should be tried. "

Amazing that a Texas Attorney General has no Rights when it comes to allegations by the Feds. Even more amazing that you have no problem with it.

Uh…do you have problems with reading compensation (that’s a rhetorical question, we all know you do), he specifically mentioned that the AG hasn’t gone to trial yet so he most certainly doesn’t seem ok with that.

Ice storm is a massive overstatment. In San Antonio we had 3 inches of snow on a Sunday night and maybe 2 inches on the following Wednesday if I remember right. Other than that it was four days with highs in the high 20s and lows in high teens to low 20s. City was almost completely shut down thanks to Greg Abbott's rolling blackouts, didn't even have stoplights working.

While the rolling blackouts sucked and significantly contributed to the death toll the actual danger that kind of gets forgotten was grid collapse. The TX grid was 4 and half minutes from collapse. Without the rolling blackouts it would have collapsed and damaged millions or billions of dollars of bespoke equipment. The power could have been out for literally weeks or months while new equipment was produced and trucked in.

The fact it got that close is the true malfeasance.

Paxton and his attorneys have requested (as if the accused should have to request a speedy and fair trial) the Feds have refused and still carry on this faux prosecution. I've said it before, there used to be "liberals" on this forum, i have no idea where the hell they went because no "liberal" would support this type of injustice.

Hey dumb ass, who is supporting this? Show me a quote by anyone on this forum that supports no trial taking place or is ok with the slow walking Justice. If you can’t then this is yet another lie by you.

Yeah, except there is more to the story than you are telling. One of the judges assigned early on agreed to pay a fee per hour for the special prosecutors. Then one of Paxton’s cronies filed a lawsuit saying the fee is too high. Payment to the SPs was stopped and the case has been bounced around to different courts and jurisdictions while the SPs are trying to get paid for the agreed upon fee. All of the delay shenanigans came from Paxton’s side and now he is playing the victim.
