Networks are pumping out too many scripted shows like this. People have too many choices and are cannibalizing viewing audiences.

The idea was that we'd all rather watch some crappy show like that than watch reruns. I think they found out that people don't just tune into the same channels and watch TV cause they have nothing better to do. People want to watch good shows and if there are none, we'll find something better to do.

yea, they're pulling shows a lot faster now a days. CBS's Smith and NBC's (I think) 3lbs both got pulled after only three episodes. I wonder how many good shows we're missing out on because they're being pulled too fast. A lot of past hits sucked in the beginning and they never would've grown to be successes if they were pulled after only three eps.

that show just looked so horrible from the commercials that they showed during every commercial break of LOST. i had no intention of watching that show.

I wish 3 Lbs hadn't been cancelled. I liked that show. While I wasn't able to watch it when it aired, I DVRed it and watched it the next weekend.

Ratings for The Class are double what Daybreak was pulling and it's cheaper to make.


Daybreak is just a casualty because there are too damn many shows that are trying to carry a single story line through an entire season. Networks are churning out jillions of these serial shows just because 24 and Lost made the genre successful. Very few people have the time and energy to commit to a show like that. Heroes and Jericho caught on, the rest failed. That's how it's going to be with shows like that. The ones that strike a chord are going to be successful right from the get go and those that don't will tank immediately. The networks have no other choice than to pull them early. Serialized shows HAVE to gain an audience fast because nobody will pick them up half a season in like a sitcom or traditional drama. If you miss the backstory in the first few weeks you can't catch up.

Good. Those commercials were annoying. I don't watch ABC anymore anyway because they don't air in HD around here. So I just download the episodes.

I stopped watching that show about halfway through the second episode. I couldn't stand it. It had so many people I liked in it too. Oh well.

I found it funny that two people from "Party of Five" where on back to back. All they needed to do what put Ghost Whisperer on after The Nine or before Lost it would have been a trifecta!

I didn't watch it because I already saw it 100 billion times from the abundance of commercials. That plus I have other things to do. It's nice to get a vacation from Lost every now and then.
