There are more Caucasians working in A&F stores and more Caucasian models in A&F catalogues due to the obvious reason that Caucasians are the company's primary market. White people relate to white people.

I don't give a rummy rat's ass what ethnicities are represented at FUBU stores. I would not be surprised to see an all Black sales staff. I wouldn't be surprised, nor would I be upset.

If A&F want to market their products to one specific ethnicity, they should be allowed to.

The entire lawsuit is ridiculous. It is a perfect example of PC bullshite and morons out to make a quick buck. If I were the presiding judge I would throw it out.

well, kinda like when you go into a panda express or whatever chinese fastfood restaurant you won't be able find anyone not asian at the help counter. I know some girl got turned down for employment because she's not asian but hell, some of the managers are dumb enough that they don't really speak english that well.

Just playing devil's advocate, but are you sure it was because she wasn't Asian? It may very well have been a lack of language skills (a perfectly reasonable skill to require if your entire kitchen speaks the same non-English language).

As for clothing, if A&F only want to market to white people, that's their choice.

ok, numbnuts, this is America. The land of the free, home of the brave. Not some third world country where noone has rights and you get your hands chopped off for stealing an ear of corn. We have something called standards and civil rights in this country. I suggest you read them, and unless it is a private dwelling or establishment, you cannot discriminate based upon race. Its as simple as that, no matter who initially paid for the building or merchandise. The shareholders pay for it anyway, and I am sure they are not all white. This type of situation also brings bad publicity which could in turn drive the stock price down. There are many stakeholders in a corporation.

So you believe in only giving people their rights if it suits you? Just because you don't believe in the same things people do doesn't mean they shouldn't have the right to believe them. Taking away the right of someone to practice what they believe, regardless of how you feel about it, goes against everything you've just spoke of. You're right, this isn't a third world country and people do have rights, but that also includes the right for people to not like certain other people.

At no point in this country should people be punished for what they believe. Employment is a different issue and I don't feel people should be discriminated against because of it, but as for private bathrooms and clothing lines, I think the company should be able to do whatever they want with it even if it does run it into the ground.

They have that right.

i think they can hire whoever they want whenever they want if thats how they operate.....if they need a white person at the desk and a hispanic in the back.....well then.....it's like movie casting, the movie calls for a black dude, why don't white actors get all pisssed off about descrimination!? everyone just wants things their way and finds a way to sue over it if they dont'........

iirc, if race has no being on the actual performance of the job, then it can be considered racial discrimination. It's hard portraying a white guy in a Malcolm X movie as Malcolm X, or Samuel Jackson as Hitler in a WWII era movie. Your nonsignificant example of movie casting is hardly discrimination.

that's a pretty pathetic and weak counter arugement. Neither of the above clothing companies own their own stores. They are sold through Macy's, Nordstrom, etc .. they don't have a say in the workforce.
