well, heres the setup: (bear in mind im not seeking help for the BSOD, im just blaming it on poor engineering)
abit ab9 quad gt, 2x1gb kingston 533 mem (temporary,) seasonic 600w, no cd (loaded with an extra 3550a,) evga 7600gs (or something like that, it will never see a 3d app ever,) and 4U rackmount case. fully conditioned power. oh an a shatty p4 3.0 2m cache... single core... >< (till xeon comes in)
the drives, so far running a mirror of an 80 and 200, extra drives that i decommissioned because of small size for my first implementation of my server setup untill seagate 1tb ES drives come out... these drives were mounted in an athena 4 bay raid cage modded with an intel stock btx 92mm highspeed fan.
the rundown of what happened: after everything is installed, including the raid monitor, i popped a 750 with some of my isos out of my production server, still on, and popped it in the testbed, seeing if it would detect it like it should.
Well, things didnt go as planned. my production server froze up hard... its been giving me issues anyways, hence the rebuild. And the new build was fine for about 30 seconds, i go to refresh either computer management or the raid monitor/config utility and got an 0x00008086 stop and memory dump...
This wasnt the first BSOD ive gotten on this server tho, well excuse of a server, ive had a few driver issues because its 03 server, mainly uGuru. Also 1 at boot time from a mup.sys overflow (traced back to drivers)... after that i reloaded, and no issues since then, of course i didnt reload uGuru. Sadly i am not impressed with the software/driver/company side of this board, but meh, it works for now.
So thats my story, not exactly residential use eh? whats strange is whenever the BSODs happen i actually get memory dumps. as a primary job i am a repair tech, and i RARELY get systems to give me a memory dump (but they arnt running 03 server either)
oh, if i sound arrogant its because im either A tired of poor engineering, or B expecting too much from a mainboard (some1 confirm on B please, its ONLY going to be exchange, dns, a few websites a few sql servers, fileserver of 4tb)
