I see a lot of topics going on here, but seems like no mention of CPU socket change. So, does 45 degree rotated socket make any difference? Positive, negative, or nothing at all?[/]

Nothing at all. My 2.6C@3250MHz (Zalman CNPS7000-Cu) idles @ 29C, 44C Load.

BTW, the AI7 is Prescott ready.

btw: according to the IS7 manual, RAID 0 & 1 is supported, so both motherboards offer this feature.

seems to me that the AI7 is really an IS7 revision 2 board... which is fine by me.

Anyone have experience with the onboard sound for the AI7? Is it decent or would I have to drop an audigy in it?

I have had no trouble with the sound whatsoever. This board is solid.

Ok, finally got my AI7 to work after getting new memory. That generic stuff died that I had.....kept making it lock up in the BIOS of this board and previous board.
One other problem was that the board kept sounding the alarm for the CPU....as if it were overheating. I found it to be that the CPU's fan was spinning too slowly for the board to like. Two CPU fans did this on two totally different motherboards though in the same case/powersupply. Anyway I found a place to adjust that setting in AbitEQ that stopped the siren. So far it is working great. Though I won't overclock it till I get a fan that will sping over the 2300 neither of these two retail fans seem to want to go above. The sound that is onboard is also great. Very clear and no pops or cracks.
