Brueger,
Nothing special needed. Just butter it up and slap the hunk of metal on it.
By the way - I cant seem to get any faster than 133 FSB and make it through POST which leaves me with 2.13Ghz at the moment.
Not a bad OC - but it leaves me wanting more.
Im patiently waiting for a bios update for the Abit BD7.

Update: Played around some more and now got the chip at 2.25 (Fromt he stock 1.6)

This is just my opinion here, but STAY AWAY from the Abit BD7/BD7-Raid, I personally know 4 others who RMA'ed it because they were having the same problems I was. The board I got showed an error code on the post LCD that wasn't even in the book. Even if you get it working, there is a horrible reboot issue with it.

I RMA'ed it for an Asus P4B266 and it has been awesome, also the BD7 has a very hard time reaching 133FSB, the Asus board on the other hand can get there with ease. Check the Hard Forums for all the BD7 complaints, and people RMA'ing it.

The reason I wanted the board was because of the PCI lock feature, but it turns out this feature does not really work, if you use it this will also limit how high you can go with the FSB, you won't even hit 120 with it enabled. Besides now that I had time to think about it, you really don't need the locking, even if it worked correctly (read around, it doesn't) all you have to do is hit 133, and it's already locked.

BTW on the asus board above 133 it has the correct dividers to keep them in spec, people have been hitting 150-160 on the asus board with just air, it's solid.

Also as for the cooler, get the AVC Sunflower, I'm using it with Arctic Silver 3, and my 1.8A is at 2.38Ghz and I'm only at 28C idle.

My current limit with DDR set to SPD is 16x133 I can go higher when i raise the memory timings. I am awaiting a shipment of Corsair PC2700 to see if I can get the system stable at 145Mhz bus with better ram timings.

Doods...SCREW the BD7..it has horrible problems with booting when overclocking. It's just not worth it. I have a 1.6A and the BD7 and when I can get it to boot, it'll do 160FSB for a grand total of 2.56GHz. But thats few and far between. I volt modded it to default to 1.8V and it seems to have a little better luck getting up at 133Mhz, but any higher and I have some seroius problems that usually involve a POST code of 26 when it locks and in order to get it to boot, I need to hold down the power button for 5 seconds till it powers off, and then power right back up. That works MOST of the time. I really hope Abit can get a BIOS out that will solve our peoblems here, as I'd like to stay with the board...

Ok I have a Abit BD7 & a P4 1.6A Northwood CPU. I only have some generic PC2100 memory. But I have had this system up and running for a whole week with the FSB at 133 and am not having any problems at all. I would like to go up more but I think that a 33% overclock is good enough for now. Not bad for a mobo, CPU & Memory that cost less than a P4. 2.2 gig. Well I don't think you can beat it. I will pick up some good RAM later on and see if I can get it even highter when I get the ram
