Q for ya.
I have an Abit bh6 rev1.1 mobo loaded with a PIII500 katamai and 2 generic 64mb pc100 sticks.
I brought a branded IBM pc133 128mb dimm yesterday and it wouldnt work full stop, it would either get memory error beep on post or if it did manage to get further windows would report all sorts of errors.
I took the stick back and the guy who sold it to me said that the arcitecture of 133mhz mem is not compatable with the Abit mobo even though the FSB goes upto 150mhz, this is due to the way pc133 mem runs compared to pc100, now my way of thinking is that its harder to get slower memory to run faster but faster memory will always run slower if asked.
I havnt heard of any issue's stating that 133mhz mem wont work on the abit boards ie: the BH6, is this a true statement or not?
also i tried it in all slots with or without the generic ram in situe.
oh and he changed it for me for some Micron pc100 which does work fine
